Even as a self proclaimed Alex loon I'm not surprised. :( It's a $h!t song.

I'm still baffled that this is the song they thought would give her a big comeback hit... I think it'll peak high and sink faster than a bullet...

Yeah stale as hell, bar a couple of tracks. Most national radios in Portugal are like that too, that's why I choose to listen to web radio these days. I completely dispise I Gotta Feeling these days, talk about overrated to the extreme

I literally haven't ever gone a solid half hour listening to Heart so far in 2010 without hearing Alexandra Burke, so if her fans want to hear her on the radio you can't miss her

They do throw a few songs in the mix sometimes that I don't expect to hear I guess. Jennifer Paige's Crush and Aqua's Turn Back Time have both been on over the last couple of days...and for some reason, I STILL hear Shackles by Mary Mary daily, and have done almost every day for ten years, it's one of those songs that radio refuse to let die  But yeah, 99% of the time it's tiresomely predictable and I only listen to it becuase work insist on having it on all day every day :/

When Radio 1 don't playlist a song, it's based on whether they want to actually support the artist anymore, and they usually don't after that. I don't know what made them turn against Alex from 'All Night Long' onwards.

I don't think Alex will ever be playlisted with this era now. Let's see if her first single from second album is going to be playlisted or not... It's a plenty of time before it though.

Saturdays and Inna are going to move A-list since next week I think.

2 songs with Rihanna in it in the A-List B)

Shontelle should get playlisted :( Its an amazing song that deserves Top 10

That Heart FM playlist is quite tragic. Theres appealling to your demographic and then theres that.

Isnt there still quite a lot of weeks to go until Alex releseas Start Without You anyway? I dont partically see the rush to playlist it, and pretty much everyone considers it a below par effort from her. If they snubbed All Night Long, I definatly wont be suprised to see them snub Start Without You.

The question is why they didn't playlist All Night Long though... There was NO objective reason not to playlist her that time. This new song - maybe, it's quite controversial and a bit of love-hate.

And 'Start Without You' is released with Taio Cruz Brandon Flowers, Hurts, Katy B, Biffy Clyro, The Pretty Reckless & Sky Ferreira who are ALL already play-listed.

Another release that week is Locnville :( It seems they aren't going to be playlisted too.

Here's the current Heart Burke FM playlist by the way just in case anyone's interested for comparison's sake, seeing as after Radio 1 it's probably the biggest station in terms of reaching audiences across the entire country;

Alan Pownall - Colourful

Alexandra Burke - Start Without You

Alexandra Burke - All Night Long

Alexandra Burke - Bad Boys

Alexandra Burke - Broken Heels

Alicia Keys - Doesn't Mean Anything

Alicia Keys - Empire State of Mind

Alicia Keys - Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart

Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling

Black Eyed Peas - Meet Me Halfway

Drake - Find Your Love

Enrique Iglesias - I Like It

Fyfe Dangerfield - She's Always A Woman To Me

Jason Derulo - What If

Jay Sean - Down

JLS - Everybody in Love

JLS - The Club is Alive

Journey - Don't Stop Believin'

Katy Perry - California Girls

Keri Hilson - I Like

Kings Of Leon - Sex on Fire

Kylie Minogue - All The Lovers

Lady Gaga - Alejandro

Lady Gaga - Bad Romance

Lady Gaga featuring Beyonce - Telephone

Michael Bublé - Crazy Love

Michael Bublé - Haven't Met You Yet

Olly Murs - Please Don't Let Me Go

Owl City - Fireflies

Plan B - She Said

Rihanna - Russian Roulette

Rihanna - Te Amo

Robbie Williams - You Know Me

Taio Cruz - Break Your Heart

The Saturdays - Missing You

The Wanted - All Time Low

Westlife - What About Now

Loads of ballads and ancient songs and just ONE song on here that Radio 1 are playing currently, and that's The Saturdays...What If is also the first song of Jason's that they've playlisted, obviously because it's more MOR than the other three and Heart friendly. It's like a who's who of 2009 or older, fresh!

breathtakingly tragic. the remaining 80% of the airtime is taken up by a rotation of about 20 ancient (dated?) classics on rotation. ruined my daily routines for a significant proportion of my life now :(

HOWEVER, first Dinosaur Pile-Up now Pulled Apart By Horses? i know its only 1-upfront but AMAZING.

i have no idea either. but please playlist Tubelord/Dananananaykroyd next time <3

There's similar situation ic Czech Republic. Evropa2, the second most listened station, is probably the best for fresh tracks butthey still play a lot of old song songs. YOu can see the msot played tracks of this month here http://songster.wladik.net/view-report.htm...;period=2010-08 a few new tracks but then a load of old overplayed songs that they still play few times a day. For full list click on Zobrazit zbylý žebříček hranosti.

SUPPORT LESBIENS is officially the best band name EVAH.

Hope they playlist Alexandra Burke, Shontelle and Christina Aguilera soon but highly doubt it :(

I keep forgetting that Christina has another single due out.

That's not released until September 20th though but tbh I think Radio 2 are more likely to playlist it. On the plus side, I think commercial radio (Heart especially) will take to 'You Lost Me' unlike 'Not Myself Tonight'.

I'm more curious about Alesha. 'Drummer Boy' premiered on Radio 1 but I just can't see it getting playlisted.

I think we'll see Alesha next week. The song is a mess but I adore it, would be very sad if she semi-flops with this. :(

'Drummer Boy' is absolutely terrible imo. It's a huge mess! When the lyrics first leaked, it sounded like a really tongue-in-cheek song with attitude but the musical side of it is just horrendous. :(

In my honest opinion, 'Lipstick' is probably her best single to date. That and 'Knockdown' deserved far better. :drama:

Lipstick > Breathe Slow >> Knockdown > Let's Get Excited >> The Boy Does Nothing >>> To Love Again >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Drummer Boy. -_-

Remember, the playlist is based on the artists' profile and she had a pretty successful era last time. I'm pretty much certain they will playlist this.

I do not think there is any truth to an artists profile having anything to do with their inclusion in the playlist. It is obvious that they play favorites with certain acts and types of music with scant regard for the teen market. The Wanted,Fugative and Alex are popular enough with the youth market and are ignored.

When they refused to playlist La Roux - For the Kill her fans were in an uproar and The Guardian took up the case, it was the R1 contoller who was said to be irate at the bad publicity who eventually had it included.I think Alesha will be playlisted the BBC supports thier own.

Anyone else noticed that they've started adding most of the new songs a week later than normal? Normally they have 4 full weeks on the playlist before their release, now they have just 3 weeks - 1 of which is on the C-list so that doesn't really count. If this is something they are going to start doing regularly, we can expect less and less high new entries, especially from new artists (like Sky Ferreira)

Not always. They never playlist the winners singles of those Andrew Lloyd Webber shows, e.g. Danielle Hope/Lee Mead, and never playlist our Eurovision entries either and very rarely the Children In Need singles. Obviously the concept of cross promotion across multiple platforms within the same company has escaped the BBC  They're trying to make money for charity with these singles, the least they could do is put them on the C-list like they do with the dreadful football/charity records and X Factor winners cliched debut singles.
