Pauline Quirke's new part in Emmerdale reminded me of this, i used to love it, anyone else a fan?

Also, i've just checked and the first UK DVD release is out in around two weeks (for the first two series at least).

I used to love watching this with my mum when I was wee. I saw an episode recently and I still found it as funny as ever.

I watched "Birds of a feather" when I was young as well  don't remember much though. I know I liked the ending credits though...

One thing I do remember is when one of the characters was pregnant and came home with loads of yoghurt!

i don't remember much about it anymore either. i do remember one episode though where they're in a warehouse or something and then the annoying one comes and rescues them at the end..

Same, the theme tune/credits were really nostalgic/sweet.

Classic show, one of my favourites of the 90's. I have the first series on DVD and I'm glad to hear the others are to follow, it's about time.

I loved this programme ! It's still funny now.

Pauline Quirke is amazing.

Brings back loads of memories. Pauline Quirk was the star for me, I usually love things she's in now as well.
I used to like it as a kid  Tried watching one a while ago and I struggled to get back into it. Maybe the DVDs are what I need!
i had not seen it before but watched it at my friend's home last week and i really liked it
I loved and still love Birds of a Feather, i have all the episodes on dvd including all the specials and i still watch the repeats on comedy central.

Looks like I am the only one who didn't like it then :o

It was just so repetitive really, every episode would have the same old things in it, same old phrases from Dorien, same old thing of just bursting in uninvited, same old bragging about who she had shagged, same old scenes in the prison, they should have just released a DVD of the first epidode and called it the entire Birds of a Feather history, seen one episode seen them all

You're not alone. I was never a fan either.

It was a love or hate show but it was definitly love for me, i never found it repetitive although the first 7 series were far better than series 8 and 9.
Been watching the Season 2 DVD after it came on Friday. Forgot how funny the jokes actually were - very laugh out loud in places if you like British humour, although some of the jokes are obviously incredibly outdated now as they refer to cultural events/products/shops/music of the time - i.e. the late 80's/early 90's. But it's still a treat - Dorien is as amazing as I remember but all three main characters are fantastic and play off each other brilliantly.

Did anyone see the revival of this last night on ITV? I thought it was absolutely excellent but I've always been a huge fan. I even saw the stage show last year.

Despite being away for 16 years, it seemed as if it hadn't gone anywhere and Leslie Joseph looks amazing for her age :o The humour was as brilliant and on point as ever:

'the line are getting wet'

'well, it's that sort of book'

And it was great to see that it referenced popular culture so brilliantly throughout, as the show always had in the 90s. The ratings for it were 7.8 million average, peaking at 8.3 million. Incredible for ITV, especially in that timeslot! I hope they hold up, revivals of old sitcoms can be so hit and miss but this hasn't aged at all.

I've never really been a fan of the programme but saw it last night to see what it was like. I'm still not a fan. I did however like the line - bringing the show up to date - about Sharon giving Travis a tour of her flat via Skype.
I thought it was *good*, but it wasn't amazing by any means. The humour was a bit BOG standard. I'll watch the rest of the series, but not really got great expectations.
