August 30, 201014 yr Strange hearing Last Christmas on the radio in August! Everything she wants is more appropriate for the summer....
August 30, 201014 yr I'm pretty sure this top 100 doesn't include all the singles that have sold 1 million copies. 'Sex on Fire' was the 101st million seller so it must have pushed out another song to have made the top 100! Perhaps Mysterious Girl? it must have been Mysterious Girl or White Christmas- or that may have been before the start date Strange hearing Last Christmas on the radio in August! I know, there was Merry Xmas Everybody and Mary's Boy Child as well
August 30, 201014 yr Barbie Girl overtook I Want To Hold Your Hand! In 2002 it was over 50k behind, so that's over 50k that have bought it since downloads were introduced  Of course, The Beatles songs are at an instant disadvantage STILL not being able to download legally.
August 30, 201014 yr I thought Sex on Fire was 100th or was it I Gotta Feeling? I Gotta Feeling was 100th, Sex on Fire 101st :)
August 30, 201014 yr I'm also surprised at how high Ian Dury and the Blockheads placed considering this information from Music Week given on the week that Black Eyed Peas passed the million: On its 50th appearance in the Top 75, Black Eyed Peas’ I Gotta Feeling makes its biggest slide to date, falling 43-60 – but the 4,899 copies it sold last week see it safely past the million sales mark, and make it the 100th single to reach the target. At the start of the 21st century, only 70 singles had sold a million copies. I Gotta Feeling is the 11th song released since then to secure a seven figure sale but the advent of the digital age means that 19 singles released in the last century have also crossed the million sales mark, including such veteran campaigners as Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick by Ian Dury & The Blockheads (up from 979,000 to 1,005,000), Adam & The Ants’ Stand And Deliver (985,000 to 1,007,000) and Take That’s Back For Good (959,000 to 1,042,000). And now suddenly it's nearly 20 places higher than Adam & the Ants and 10 higher than Take That. Surely it can't have sold that much since this data was released a few months ago??

August 30, 201014 yr Yes, I noticed that aswell. I think someone has made a mistake either music week or occ as I douby itd have sold 100k in 3 months Yeh I reckon it should actually be at 92 or 93.
August 30, 201014 yr Not Unchained Melody AGAIN! No wonder Simon Cowell wants all of his acts to do it if it always sells so well. Both Boney M songs are still to come in the top 9, I guess Mary's Boy Child feeds off xmas downloading, it was at #10 last time I think...
August 30, 201014 yr Do we have the 2002 list to compare so we can see the effect of downloads on older songs?

August 30, 201014 yr Just a thought about the theming for this show (which is great by the way, and the updated list with digitial downloads is long overdue.) Why not just call it the biggest selling 100 of all time, rather than tag it as "top million sellers" ?? Edited August 30, 201014 yr by mickeypops

August 30, 201014 yr Does anyone know what week the data goes up to? I'm sure KoL should be a couple places higher
