I was slightly underwhelmed with 'Americano' tbh. I thought it'd be my favourite track on the album as i adored the live performances she done of it, but the album version isn't as stunning as the live one. (Thats happened plenty of times though with me in the past with other songs). It is brilliant don't get me wrong, but its certainly not the best on the album.

 

If i were you, i'd be most excited about hearing 'Scheiße'.

And 'Hair' is much better than 'Heavy Metal Lover' and 'Bloody Mary'! :o

'Heavy Metal Lover' was a bit too 'experimental' for my liking :( And 'Bloody Mary' is plain dull frankly.

Scheisse is the biggest grower on the album, it's pretty close to being my fave actually! Americano is my fave atm though, so quirky and different! :wub: And Bloody Mary is NO WAY DULL :cry: Probably my 5th/6th fave on the album :o

Try not to upset Davidson too much with your scoring!

 

Its fine, Regina didnt upset me ^_^ I was just wondering, that was all. And I obviously just rate differently from you, as I wouldnt really want to listen loads to a song thats a 6/10 but each to their one, and it definetly didn't upset me, so I would appreciate less snide comments, if possible.

 

Also I agree about Hair being better than Bloody Mary and Heavy Metal Lover, although I love them all.

Imo, it's one of the those tracks I loved instantly, but it has grown HUGELY! It's gone from 7th/8th in my faves up to 3rd. I can see it becoming my fave in the next few days!

After nearly 48 hours to digest the album here is my rankings now from best to worst though the top three equally great:

 

09.5 Marry The Night - I never expected this to become my favourite but the chorus is so joyful, just brilliant, the middle eight of this and 'Hair' sound kind of similar to me though somehow?

09.5 Scheiße - RedOne & GaGa are nearly always a treat [Judasso the lack of RedOne on the album is dissapointing

09.5 Heavy Metal Lover - This really is the 'SHICD' of the album, so chill and the synths after the chorus are amazing.

09.0 Hair - This would be a 9.5 if it wasn't so long, 80's style done right, i don't know how anyone can hate on this.

09.0 The Edge Of Glory - Another that is just a bit to long for my liking, again everything else so great, even the cheesy saxophone has grown.

08.5 Government Hooker - I much preferred the remix, i preferred the fast pace and less in the way of the lyrics, still verging on brilliant though.

08.5 Americano - Competely bonkers and utterly addictive, theres nothing wrong with sounding like Eurovision.

08.0 Highway Unicorn - The verses are amazing, the song in general has grown so much.

08.0 Electric Chapel - The intro reminds me of The Excorcist, the 'Follow Me' bits remind me of another track but can't think of what it is, a {lac)chorus stops it from being amazing.

07.5 You & I - Another track that suffers from being to long, drags on a bit but its still very much pleasant on the ears.

07.5 Born This Way - Listening to this in context with the album made me appreciate this more, ignoring some dud lyrics its finally growing.

07.0 Judas - Still RedOne's weakest GaGa production, a poor Bad Romance rehash in the same way Money Honey rehashed Just Dance but like MH its just a decent track.

07.0 Bad Kids - I really do enjoy the verses and the middle eight but the chorus can't grow.

06.5 Bloody Mary - I can take or leave this, verges on filler for me yet its growing on me.

What? Heavy Metal Lover is probably one of the least experimental/most straightforward songs on the album. Not to mention the best...

Hair is the best thing on it. Such an anthem :heart:

Very impressive album. Only song I don't like is 'Bad Kids'. Gaga is still Queen.

None of the bonii belong on the album (they should all have been on disc two with the remixes) but they're all actually rather good (even if Fashion Of His Love rips off both Born This Way and Express Yourself wholesale!). The Queen in particularly is really lovely. Very Fame-esque (or rather what The Fame was striving to be).

I'm REALLY LOVING Black Jesus / Amen Fashion. It feels like some sort of long lost highlight from The Fame.
