There have been rumours about the 'X Factor Performances' been made avaliable for buying, but nothing has been confirmed. If the rumours are true I'd believe that they would follow whatever 'American Idol' is doing with the performances (I don't know whether they chart or not) And there's no need to cause an argument over this.

Yeh I have had it personally confirmed and they are not planning to release them either the reports are bogus.

I was arguing the point that you said they would never be able to release all the performances as they would never get 'clearance' hellohi not when you said they won't be chart eligible.

I have no problem you just can't seem to understand the concept that X Factor cannot just release performances week in week out and get the clearance for it. Why would you put the word clearance in inverted commas leads me to believe that you have no idea how these things work and how the rights of performing a song on a show and actually releasing it are two different things.

I am getting your point but you clearly aren't getting mine. The reason that American Idol has been so boring the past two years is that they have been limited to the songs that they can now sing as they release the downloads and Simon doesn't decide anything on that show as he has never actually had a final decision on things like that since it was not his show. I seriously doubt UK viewers are going to be kept interested by by a bunch of dreary Motown songs.

I thought Katy would have it by now- the album version will fall away over the week and the shops are open now, so Olly's physicals can make an impact and people can buy Katy's album- If she wants number 1, the first version needs to overtake tonight

I presume that if the XF downloads are released weekly, they won't be able to chart until after the final but they will still be available for purchase after each show.

 

It would be ridiculous to let the public see who is selling the most on a weekly basis. Fans of one act might be threatened by the popularity of another act's song and will vote for their favourite act even more. I guess that would increase profit but it would kill all of the entertainment value.

 

Oh and o/t, hurry up Katy!
