She seems to be the new Katie Melua in terms of being nothing like anyone else in the charts at the moment and perfect Radio 2 fare, complete with a 'classic' debut single going in at #10 (if it can stay there), except that Slow is absolutely stunning. Hope this bodes well for her future career as the 2 b-sides on the EP are brilliant too. Nice to see some quality back at the top end of the charts (considering Hurts are top 20 too that is :w00t:)

Maybe not but Leona's sales seem to be largely generated by X Factor promo. Once the show finished Echo disappeared from the charts & a second release & arena tour couldn't resurrect it. She needs to be able to inspire people to buy standing on her own if she wants longevity. X Factor audiences are nortoriously fickle.

 

I say this as a fan of neither artist.

Truly talented, I see where you're coming from, but to be fair leona won in 2006, its now 2010 and she's a household name, selling worldwide & considered a national treasure in the media as she represents us worldwide so longevity is inevitable.
