Jay-Z & Linkin Park - Numb/Encore

^^Has to be pretty much the ultimate non-top 10, biggest overall sales barring Jason Mraz who hung around at #30something forever and benefitted from a far higher sales period. "Numb/Encore" sold 300,000 when sales were at their absolute pit in 2004/5, far more than most #1s sold at the time.

Please tell me you're joking.

Why would I joke about songs I like and should have done better. If rubbish like The Club Is Alive, Dirtee Disco, We No Speak Americano, Replay, Green Light and countless others have hit No 1 and have no merit those songs should have done better. :P

Very true but I personally wouldn't call them "criminal". :P

Lena Meyer-Landrut - Satellite - #30? THIRTY? after topping charts all over the rest of Europe - disgraceful

Nerina Pallot - Everybody's Gone To War - an absolute anthem - went to #13/14 I think :(

and then Battlefield/Hey Soul Sister/I'm Yours - I love all three and they've all outsold #1's in their respective years, making their non top ten status laughable...

Katy Perry - Thinking Of You It's disgraceful how this peaked at the unsatisfactory TWENTY SEVEN! The song has everything. Strong vocals, beautiful melody and stunning lyrics. "Like an apple after hanging from a tree picked the ripest one I still got the seed." :snif:

Linkin Park - New Divide This song just amazing and was a top ten hit besides in the UK. At least who have brought at a hint that rock music was coming back slowly into the music scene but I was woefully wrong there. ROCK WILL COME BACK IT'S JUST HAS TO :(

Livvi Franc - Automatik One of my favourite tracks of the year and it didn't even chart when released. So sad Livvi had so much to give to the world. :(

MGMT - Kids Best song of the last year yet it only peaks at #16 while a rip off version peaks at #12. Just disgusting. This band deserves for more praise for originality. FIFA!

Rant over ^_^

That's my favourite lyric too! :o You have phenomenal taste. ^_^

I also love "You're like an indian summer in the middle of winter/A hard candy with a surprise centre".

How much has Hey Soul Sister sold, after all it's weeks hanging around low top 40? :o

I love that lyric too. I don't get how Thinking Of You is so underrated it actually makes me upset

You have exquisite taste too my friend ^_^

I know. :( Plus Katy wrote the song all by herself so it just shows how talented she is with a pen. ^_^

Oh and I already know that. ^_^:P

I agree with some of the songs others have posted in this thread. Rock That Body, Satellite and Waka Waka all should've gone top 10 really.

How long have you got?

Elbow- One Day Like This- absolute anthem, yet never peaked higher than 35 despite a lengthly chart run

Sigur Ros- Hoppipolla- beautiful and inspiring, it did climb to 24, but should have been so much higher

Muse- Hysteria/Neutron Star Collision/Starlight/Undisclosed Desires/Resistance- as you can can see, Muse have a history of songs charting criminally low

Linkin Park- Numb- this was their best next to In The End, which thankfully did go top 10- yet just missed out and really should have got there

Johnny Cash- Hurt- Beautiful, inspiring cover and a bit like a tribute just before he died- and reached 32!

MGMT- both Kids and Time to Pretend- both amazing, witty and brilliant songs and as they were quite unknown, neither went very high

theres probably a lot more, but those stand out to me

Sugababes - Denial and Change
The two Sugababes singles i was looking for!

The latter was released straight into the shadow of About You Now and spent the majority of it's chart run lower than AYN

This needs to be said:

'Shape' >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 'Denial'/'Change'.

avril lavigne - hot.

diana vickers - the boy who murdered love.

marina and the diamonds - oh no!

kylie minogue - the one.

the ting tings - be the one.

little boots - new in town/earthquake.

kate nash - all singles post-'foundations'.

ke$ha - your love is my drug.

paramore - all singles.

This needs to be said:

'Shape' >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 'Denial'/'Change'.

Noooooooo, 'Shape' is awful especially in comparison to those two.

Alanis Morissette - Underneath. 99? Really? CRIMINAL.

The Killers - Spaceman, A Dustland Fairytale and The World We Live In.

Dannii Minogue - Touch Me Like That

Kylie - Put yourself in my place

Kylie - Finer Feelings

Kylie - The One

Noooooooo, 'Shape' is awful especially in comparison to those two.

Don't make me come over there! :P

'Shape' is incredibly haunting...plus when I saw the video when I was like 9, I was waiting for the feathers to fall of them all... I know - a pervert at the mere age of 9. :(
