Hey guys. This is my first post on here. Joined as i love all things buzzjack. Hope Alex gets to No.1 on Sunday (which it is looking likely she will). SWU is nowhere near as good as ANL but in my opinion that was robbed of No.1 so SWU getting there will make up for it! Think The Script will overtake her next week though..they are definetly closing in from the looks of things!

Welcome and BJ is one of the better pop sites.Hopefully Alex will be No 1 on Sunday and can hold off The Script.Alesha was on live lounge maybe that will give her a boost.

are there any big releases next week? it would be great if alex got #1 this week and the script got it next week..

Thank you. Yes think Alex has it in the bag really. Hope she doesn't tumble too much next week though. She has done very well as this will be her first No.1 without an XF campaign behind her. Supreised Katy Perry has not closed in more...perhaps The Script could grab her No.2 spot in the official chart off her by Sunday judging by the way they are performing on itunes.

The Manics, Robyn, Shontelle, Die Antwoord and Maroon 5 are all out and I'd guess none of them will go anywhere near the top 2, although Shontelle and Manics might go top ten. Looks like Alexandra for a second week or The Script unless something from X Factor/Must Be The Music blows up out of nowhere.

What about Jay Sean and Nicky Minaj I think he tends to go Top 10.Would love for Alex to stay at No 1 but realistically it will be a hard slog.Really hope that Shontelle and Impossible go Top 10 her best song yet.

Has that song even had any promo in the UK? I'm surprised it's being released so early - can't believe Radio 1 didn't playlist it after the success of Down and Do You Remember.

Examples out physically next week as well- I think that could go top 10 too

Are The Script getting closer to Alex?

Edit: yes, they are- if they overtake before friday, they have a chance of going top 3 on sunday :D

Usher is getting closer to number 10 :o

(Still some way to go though)

It was because it was like the 5th official single from the album, and the album had sold a lot by then if anything. The few sales it got in January wouldn't stop it from being a hit if it was going to be one, the single before it was only a minor hit too.

It was not that it sold a lot, it's just that it's already too well known (due to it getting airplay, etc.). It's like if one of those tracks that kids get force-fed by their parents at a young age were to get re-released. They would be less inclined to buy the track, because they've been hearing it the past 10 years, and are fed up of it now. Apply this to Rihanna's track. The song has been well-known for half a year now. Most people are just fed up of it.

My point was, I think if Rihanna had promoted a remix of Hard, it would've charted much higher, and it is common sense for The Saturdays to be doing so. David Guetta and Chris Willis's Gettin' Over (5th single) looked to be heading for top 20 at the max, but they promoted and released a better remix of the track, and it shot all the way to #1. Other artists should do that, in my opinion.

Wow @ The Script, glad they deffo gonna get a top 5 single, looking forward to hearing the new album!
Tbh I think Example will not get above 25... they haven't really made a massive impact yet..

I think it'll go top 20 for sure. Example is really popular at the moment, and it could peak after its release date.

And Beyonce is up to #43! :o

Stromae news - the Alors On Danse digital bundle was put back a week because they are now including a version with Kanye West. It will come out on Sunday.

That's as maybe, but I really think as far as getting hit singles out of that album, it was done with after 'Te Amo'.

People being "fed up of a track and not buying it" is a complete myth, if that's the case then why do songs even hang around so long, or re-enter the top 10 a year after they were huge like 'Sex On Fire' etc have done, wouldn't people be more sick of those if that were the case?

Shall we start the predictions for possible top 40 songs for next week as we did last week?

I think these could be the songs that make an impact on next weeks chart and there placings..

#12 Example – Last Ones Standing

#9 Jay Sean feat. Nicki Minaj – 2012

#23 Iyaz – So Big

#6 Loick Essien – Love Drunk

#16 Maroon 5 – Misery

#23 Robyn – Hang With Me

#14 Shontelle - Impossible

The Iyaz and Example songs would of charted higher if they had been non-album tracks. And Loick Essien in my eyes would of been the next Tinie Tempah/ Dizzee Rascal jumping from grime and underground stuff to mainstream, but as there hasn't been much hype around him he's in a lower place.
