Listening to the songs now and so far it's AMAZING. Well i had to skip a couple of tracks, one was really embarrassing to listen to. :lol:

 

The irish Battlestar Galactica song is incredible.

Can't stand that BSG song - sounds like lame faux-celtic bollox to me. Also like someone trying to copy the Braveheart soundtrack. Not clicking at all.

 

Meanwhile that Valravn song is stunning on first listen. Apparently it's a Faroe Islands folk tale set to music. Wish I had a translation of the lyrics.

Ghost Society is also a new favourite and I already liked Band of Skulls and Ou Est Le Swimming Pool.

The Wild Nothing track released a lot of spyware onto my computer when I played it on iTunes, so just be careful in case it's not an isolated incident. It took 3 hours to reset my system.

Can I just say who ever sent Peter Murphy, its a gem, I'm in love with the track.

About half way through the list now, I'm not sure if it's better than the first contest or not yet, will make my mind up after listening to all the songs.

Yeah. That's an absolute mess. The sound is all over the place. I find it so bloody dreary.

Only had one vote so far. Slightly surprising, but I'm glad people are taking time to familiarise themselves with the songs. Deadline is now 23:59 on Wednesday as I'm now going out on that night, so all of the results will be on Thursday.
