It won't, because for positions 11 to 40, they do total sales over the week on iTunes, combined with airplay. It's only the top 10 that's live. :(

 

It'd be great if the whole top 40 was live though. They'd have so many interesting songs in there every week. They'd have remixes, album tracks, cover versions and such.

This has been proven to have precisely 0.01 impact on the song's chart position.

Surely though, the less airplay the song has previously had on R1, the greater the impact a chart show airing will have?

 

You'd think it works like that, but it's been demonstrated that has no effect whatsoever.

*How* has that been demonstrated - to me it seems totally counter-intuitive?

 

If you only even listen to R1, and they play a new song, it can't *help* be generate new sales for it!

 

 

 

The top of the iT chart is a bit boring ATM - the top 3 seem to have been frozen in proportion for several days...
