And basically with this week we are going into the final quarter of 2010. And... I expect one chart battle after another. We thought about 3 death weeks, but on 24th October there is Cheryl vs. Rihanna, on 31st October it's erm... Roll Deep vs. Nadine vs. Ne-Yo vs. Tinchy vs. McFly vs. Saturdays among others. I guess some of those releases will be pushed back/forward as it's too crazy to have so many big names on 31st Oct. Imagine Ne-Yo not getting top-10 with the lead single. :lol:

 

 

you always find this at this time of yea with all the big artists in the music industry releasing around xmas to gain maximum sales as its the only time of the year when albums actually sell!!

 

check out 22/11 - its jls vs take that - both albums will sell around 300k if the lead singles are decent enough!!as for the singles chart most weeks wil have the top selling artists battling ech other via their performance on xfactor so sales for the no 1 will jump from around 75k on average to 150-200k!!

Cool :) I can't really see it becoming a massive hit now, although it really ought to be Radio 2 playlisted, and Radio 1 should be all over it too, it's so Paloma Faith :heehee: A Night Like This is a better song that said, maybe that will be her breakthrough...

probably is front loaded -0 the videos been out a good while and the song was first sired on radio 1 8 weeks ago - it will sell loads this week (maybe 90-100k) but drop pretty fast like most number ones this year.record companies need to get away from the fixation of trying to hit no1 and release songs earlier to maintain maximum sales and stop illegal dloading!!

Totally agree with that!

I hope this song will give her some buzz so that she can smash it with A Night Like This, which I also prefer, just like she did overhere in The Netherlands.

Yeah. Magic has been getting airplay since July now, and it's still not in the top 100! :o I think it's still a while until it's released though. The problem is, Airplanes peaked in popularity like a month before intended, so there was a tiny gap between Nothin' On You and Airplanes (infact, one of the shortest gaps between #1s from the same artist in chart history, I believe!), and now a massive gap between Airplanes and Magic. They should've brought Magic forward, because of this.

I believe so. The cover for it is used on his facebook page, and I think I read it should be hitting radio soon. Dunno if that's just US or not though. Isn't it too early for over here, since 'Magic' hasn't been released yet? Or has it? :lol: *goes and checks release schedule*

 

EDIT: Yep. 'Magic' is released 25th October. (wish it'd hurry and get making a move on iTunes though :drama:)
