I hope Katy On A Mission stays around for as long as possible.

Firstly because the song is brilliant of course, but secondly because of how annoyed people in this thread are getting at it - you have to love the songs that bring out genuine anger in the I-Loons.

Enrique seems to be able to consistently score hits in every era doesn't he :o He's translated almost seemlessly from appealing to CD buyers to appealing to downloaders. This was the UK top ten exactly 11 years ago - Eiffel 65, Lou Bega, Bob Marley, Vengaboys, Paul Johnson, DJ Jean, Tom Jones/Cardigans, Lolly, Shaft and Enrique. And he's the only one still standing singles chart wise - very impressive!

One thing I do miss though is the sheer international scope of the charts back then - Italy, Germany, Jamaica, Holland x2, US, UK x 2, Swedish and Spanish acts all in the same top ten!

Yeah, it does amaze me slightly how he's still so succesful, he's good looking and has some good songs but I think it would be a stretch to call him very talented. Did you see any of Eurovoice, Rich? He had a stage invader, and he let her stay on the stage and danced with her  And I miss international arts on the charts too, even if he is TECHNICALLY Spanish...

He didn't in 2007. He scored a big hit with 'Do You Know?' but the follow-ups failed to do even nearly as well. 2007 was a really weird year for music though. You had the bubblegum-pop from Avril, the modern-soul introduction from Amy, the indie music continuing with Kaiser Chiefs and The Fray etc, then there was R&B from Rihanna and Leona. It's like the 90s shoved into one year.

Anyway, Enrique is really surprising me (and everyone else I guess) this year. I seriously thought ILI would peak just outside the top 10 and then plummet but it was a serious contender for #1 at one point. His album was a bit flash-in-the-pan but luckily it's re-entering. I think if 'Heartbeat' manages to go top 10, 'Dirty Dancer' will definitely follow.

No I didn't, what's Eurovoice?

Yeah, when I put Spanish in my 'acts' thing I meant Enrique! Paul Johnson was the US act in that top ten - only one in the top ten, and that was fairly commonplace in the late 90's. Sometimes it's commonplace now to have only one act not from the US in the top ten

Does anyone think that Enrique & Nicole could sneak into the top 10 this week officially. It was #13 in the Friday midweeks but it could easily jump up three places in two days, right? Has it ever happened before?

I can see it debuting at #11 this week though. Maybe #12.

I wouldnt get your hopes up for it, but i'm sure they'll get top 10 next week. Hopefully they can climb to #5 soon.

A lot of falling & climbing from #10-#5 today already, i wonder what will be knocked out first tomorrow.

Id say Enrique would be 11/12 this week- it should go top 10 next week, but the fact theres a lot of big releases out tomorrow will stop it going much higher- Id say it will peak around 6 or 7

I think 5-10 will shift around constantly due to the weekend effect, on sunday they should all leave rapidly

Shontelle will easily be knocked out first tomorrow by TT/Labyrinth. The second one will either be Alex G (which seems the most likely) or Enrique. I can't see EmRi leaving this week. Alex might actually. I can't see SWY sticking around for long.

That's such a good top 10!! :o

Bob Marley's track was remixed by Funstar De Luxe too so you can add Denmark to that lists of countries. :D That is a great Europop top 10 - only tracks I didn't care for were Lolly (I'm guessing this was 'Viva La Radio'? :puke: ) and 'Bailamos' which was ok but nothing special.

Glad to see Katy's lead increasing abit

Get Outta My Way #34 :yahoo:

Hope it gets a place in the Charts tomorrow!

And BTW, Please vote Yes for a Katy Perry forum, Link in my sig :):D:P

It's a bit less impressive when you consider precisely half of those are one or two hit wonders. :P But yeah, he's done amazingly well throughout his whole career, that can't be denied and to still be standing as strong as he is when his contemporaries have long faded is very good.

Alexandra back  to #5

6 Katy B

7 Enrique

8 Eminem

9 Alex Gaudino :(

Looks like Alex and Shontelle will be the casualties, and if Cee Lo releases the 3rd casualty could literally be any of Alex B, Katy B, Enrique or Eminem.

Good news at last-keep falling Katy B hopefully never to be seen or heard from again.Alex G falling too fast hope Top 10 at least in the official charts.SWY climbing again, please join it Impossible.

A terrible fake Eurovision thing from Greece, it was on over the last two nights, not great, but good for $h!ts and giggles. And he was the interval act last night :o Oh I got you, I had no idea where PJ came from actually, loved that song... That's true, as of last week, half of the songs were by US acts, 4 by UK acts (one featuring a US rapper) and only one "European" act... from Ireland

Magnetic Man's new single features Katy B, and that will definitely go top 10.
