October 31, 201014 yr Author Just seen the video finally... PHENOMENAL! It was so inspirational and self-empowering that I literally got shivers all down my body! The dysfunctional family situation along with the cancer patient, the insecure girl and the guys kissing was just, well, phenomenal! Katy looks stunning in it too and actually comes across as sensitive and empathetic which is what the video needed. The whole fireworks coming out of her body (and all the other people's) was a brilliant idea and that also went right through me. Best Katy video so far and that's not an over-reaction! Btw, someone asked about the song's message? I think it has a double meaning, I think the obvious meaning is self-empowerment and believing in yourself to succeed in life and never doubt your potential. I think there's another meaning which is more sexual that has been abandoned in the video (technically except the insecure girl) - the lines "you just gotta ignite the light and let it shine just on the night like the fourth of July" and "make them 'uh uh uh', gotta leave them going 'uh uh uh'" suggest that.
November 2, 201014 yr Its doing well on US radio! Biggest gainer for last week and it might just do the same this week, strong competition from Ke$ha though. Also seems to be jumping up iTunes! Another #1?

November 4, 201014 yr I love Firework. It's better than the other two singles by miles (although I still find myself humming the ostinato from Teenage Dream when I listen to Firework).
November 4, 201014 yr I love Firework, it's now my fave off Teenage Dream, and I really want it to be number 1, but it has no chance against Take That, JLS and X Factor :(
November 4, 201014 yr I love Firework, it's now my fave off Teenage Dream, and I really want it to be number 1, but it has no chance against Take That, JLS and X Factor :( Doesnt matter at all. Its going to be a massive selling hit :dancing: Its not all about being #1, as we have seen endless time loads of songs get to #1 and sell very little, but firework is going to sell a lot.
