We've had MANY examples of tracks performed on the X Factor but were still flops or underpormed.

The X Factor is a silly excuse for slagging off or denying the success of an artist. The X Factor gives a boost, but it's not a magic trick that will make a hit out of a flop song.

I agree totally. It makes me really angry how people do that.

Especially last year, when Meet Me Halfway ONLY got to #1 because of the X Factor, yet Bad Romance apparently got there because it deserved it, according to many on here. :D

However, I genuinely believe the problem with Joe's song is that it has had almost no airplay. I've still not heard it yet (I missed it on the X Factor).

I normally actively seek out songs to listen to if they get into the top 10 on iTunes, and I've not heard them yet, but I think I'll not do that for this song, sort of as an experiment, to see when I'll actually hear the song without trying. I'll probably not hear it until the Sunday chart show, which is really bad, and it doesn't take a brain to figure out that people hearing a song for the first time a week after it's released isn't ideal!

Also, people everywhere are saying it's confirmed to be Firework, but do we have a source? As I said, I missed the show. Did Dermot announce it would be Firework, or did Katy say it herself on Twitter or what? What's the source. I just don't want to get my hopes up unless it's 100% certain. I'd be devastated if I was expecting Firework, and we got Teenage Dream instead, or *shudder* California Gurls.

Having an X-Factor performance would usually get them a #1. But I wonder why its not happening for Joe?

Most people hear a song more than once before they decide they like it enough to buy. He has had very little promotion or radio play so I would say most of the XF audience have see/heard his single only once and add that to them being taken by surprise as it isn't the Joe they voted for and I think you may have your answer.

Weigh up the amount of promo Olly Murs has had against that given to Joe, clearly Syco have decided where their priorities lie. Nothing new, for various reasons Sony/Simon are not interested in investing in Joe as an artist. However, there is life after Sony for artists who come to public attention through the show providing they have the talent and can carve out a career so I won't write him off just yet although it isn't looking very good.

As far as the West End goes, he doesn't automatically have the qualities needed, time will tell.... but he has some very obvious disadvantages. Still that's pie in the sky at this point in time I think.

Michael Andrews & Gary Jules down to #20

B.o.B & Rivers up to #40 :o

Not that surprising, isn't it the Scott Mills record of the week on R1? But very pleased to see that it's starting to do well

Bout time 'Magic' got a move on! I'm slightly over the track now, but it's still my favourite from his album.

Ouch! I feel so sorry for Joe now.

It's not going to look good for TXF's credibility of only 2 of 6 winners are currently successful and signed (Shayne probably won't be for much longer).

Same, I actually feel sorry on Joe Now ! He should be promoting more though? Guess i might download the song!

 It's completely dead in the water now. Looks like only one week top 10 for Joe.

If SyCo have any interest in actually saving this thing they would be wise to move on to single #2 very quickly...

Oh god! Poor Joe

I can't believe how badly this is dropping :drama:

At this rate he'll spend just one week top 10!

Oh dear at Joe - He'll be lucky to stay top 5 by friday, I cant help but find it amusing though- he was denied a number 1 debut by a Facebook campaign, the person he beat plus Olly Murs' recent song went straight in at number 1 easily despite being up against Katy Perry, and he cant even get past a dance song with one lyric used throughout the whole thing!

its even more tragic when you compare it with last year- Alexandra Burke's song was up against Robbie Williams' big comeback, yet she totally trounced him in the sales even when he got an XF performance, with sales of 187k!

and Duck Sauce are SO close to Cee-Lo when combined, they could get it tomorrow! :o

Shame seems to be bombing a bit now- I thought Robbies greatest hits would keep it stable
