BTW, assuming Cee-Lo ends up at #1 again tomorrow, have we had an overall #1 that hasn't been even been as high as #2 on iT during the week?

 

Telephone got #1 when it only peaked at #3 (and #11) on iTunes. Pass Out was #1 the whole week on iTunes. However, Telephone did get to #1 on iTunes the following week.

But I do believe Jason's lead actually carried on into the next week after regaining the top spot from XFF. Also that's the nearest thing I could think of too. Joe McElderry is #2 in the physical sales chart (see the Almost Saturday chart thread) so these extra sales - whilst not that many - could be enough to keep Joe inside the top 5 tomorrow. However, 'Ambitions' is going to plummet next week. Could even drop out of the top 20 completely. :o

I don't think Joe will be top 5, he was already down to #6 in the 'almost Saturday chart'.

'Number 1 selling single' is hardly a compliment these days :P

 

I don't think it'll get #1 but it's definitely a possibility, and it'll sell a lot... not a good thing. It's an awful awful song. Though I seem to be alone with that opinion.

i agree with you, maybe its just not hit me yet but it seems like an average pop song?! but i suppose if it hits the top spot in america people here seem to think its genius for whatever reason?!

 

i think number one selling single is decent still nowadays esp if you have a rise to the top a la 'airplanes, yolanda 'i gotta feeling' et al!!

its def grown on me alot, nothing different to their last material but they sure do make a good indie pop song!!

 

 

 

Looking ahead to next week, there are three songs that might make the top 10:

 

The Wanted 'Heart Vacancy'

N-Dubz 'Best Behaviour'

Taylor Swift 'Mine'

 

'Barbra Streisand' is also released physically so this could give the track another sales boost next week (albeit a small one probably :P ). If Cee Lo Green doesn't decrease in sales too much this week he could make it three weeks at no. 1 (which would be brilliant :D ). The Wanted 'All Time Low' sold 84k in its first week and I can't see 'Heart Vacancy' selling more than that. maybe 80k tops. Next week could be a close top 3 sales wise - espcially top 2.
