October 9, 201014 yr They were alright, although could be in danger as is tradition with being first to perform on the first live show! 6/10 Edited October 9, 201014 yr by Kuki Sanban
October 9, 201014 yr Author Billionaire wasn't a #1. FAIL music show. Its a theme for #1s around the world
October 9, 201014 yr I'm very much liking the contemporary (for now at least) song choices thus far. Better than the usual Mariah, Whitney, and 80's overload.
October 9, 201014 yr Matt- When Love Takes Over From a small village no one has heard of, near a small town no one has heard of, near to Colchester kinda either way he is from essex. And i know all the places lol. 2nd on isn't the best place to be, quite often falls into the bottom 2, or is that eurovision I am thinking of? I don't particularly like Matt's voice, he isn't a terrible singer, but this isnt that in tune, and he seriously needs to not wear a hat. It was an alright prefomance, but not great. 10/20
October 9, 201014 yr After a dodgey first 30 seconds, he really picked it up towards the end! Very good! 7.5/10 Edited October 9, 201014 yr by Kuki Sanban
October 9, 201014 yr Matt = 8.0 Good song choice, strong voice. Too much shouting in my opinion though.
October 9, 201014 yr Matt: I'm liking how they made When Love Takes Over sound even more like Clocks - I wanted him to stop shouting at the end, but really powerful performance which I REALLY enjoyed, for the first time, I get the hype. 9/10
October 9, 201014 yr That was $h!t. Too strained. Dont know what the judges were hearing but what I heard was uncomfortable. Edited October 9, 201014 yr by tonyttt31
October 9, 201014 yr Matt - I was a little unsure at the start, but then he got into the song and won me over. I'm surprised he did the uptempo version, thought they'd slow it down for him. It shows he's quite versatile. 8/10
October 9, 201014 yr F.Y.D. were okay, they had potential, but blew it. They'll be bottom two tomorrow I'm thinking... Matt was great! Much better than the dire version of 'If I Were A Boy' last week, but I was thinking he wouldn't do 'When Love Takes Over' very well, so exceeded my expectations! Great performance. :)
October 9, 201014 yr Its a theme for #1s around the world Hmmm, but if the Netherlands was the only place it was #1 then thats pushing it a bit........
October 9, 201014 yr FYD and Matt were a bit unspectacular really. I've truely gone off Billionaire recently and I thought it was a dreadful song choice, which I feel will be a recurring theme for tonight. Matt improved as he went on, but at the begining it really could have gone ither way. Also the twist, which of course no one saw coming. Good choices except for the cowardly Lion lookalike thing Louis's chosen. 16 contestants seems way too much though, I truely wasnt expecting all 4 wildcards to become finalists automatically.
October 9, 201014 yr I don't know what you were all listening to, but I thought When Love Takes Over was one of the best first-show performances the X Factor has had to date! Going into this I was backing Rebecca, but she'll have to do well to trump that. Totally euphoric and I LOVED that arrangement. I will be downloading, defo!
October 9, 201014 yr Simon (on John): Because he's invisible at the moment Well why do you think that is?
October 9, 201014 yr Author Hmmm, but if the Netherlands was the only place it was #1 then thats pushing it a bit........ I guess they were clutching at straws to do something different
