October 12, 201014 yr Author From what we've heard so far in the singles, this is potentially an album of the year contender, imo. Really can't wait for it!

October 12, 201014 yr I love all three singles, so looking forward to this! Good to see Eva Simons on a track too!
October 12, 201014 yr With these sorts of albums, I generally like the mainstream/pop side of the album but don't care much for the 'street'/underground side a la Tinchy/Chipmunk's albums. That said, it's only 11 tracks - we know 3, and Cherri V and Eva will definitely be on pop tracks I expect, so maybe it's a full on mainstream album :o Won't please their longtime fanbase but it will please me!
October 12, 201014 yr Author Yes. :P you should read all the stupid Last.Fm and youtube comments on their latest videos about them "selling out" and stuff :drama: just as annoying as Beyoyo fans haha.
October 12, 201014 yr ^and the King Blues fans. :P I think the similar thing goes to the likes of Tinchy, Chip and more recently Tinie about their fanbase, start becoming "successful" underground before approaching the mainstream/pop territory for different types of fans (fans of poppier, dancier or "friendlier" style of music). Though I feel 'Good Times' was a surprise. I thought they'll be obscure for like forever before hearing that track. Edited October 12, 201014 yr by FM11
October 12, 201014 yr Author Yep. Definitely. I just really, really hate the term "sell out". It gets on my nerves. Surely that's what every act (well most acts) need to do in order to stay in the music buisness etc...
October 12, 201014 yr I don't really care that they've sold out, although some of the music they did before was good (I liked 'The Avenue' but 'Shake A Leg' was horrific imo), the music they're doing now is amazing and has made them one of my favourite acts of the year tbh.
October 19, 201014 yr Just listened to the 30-second clips on iTunes. The 3 singles are definitely the most "mainstream" ones (not that all the rest are street-ish, some sounds potential single material). The intro is weird. A dubstep opener? Edited October 19, 201014 yr by FM11
November 9, 201014 yr What do people reckon to this album then? There are about 4 or 5 great songs (including the three singles) but I'm not so keen on the more underground pure rap tracks, which I should have guessed would be included anyway to please those fans. Certainly not as good as Green Light and Good Times made it out to be! Not top 40 in the mids but hardly a surprise after Take Control's flop, they should have released it after Green Light. Hope the next single is What Do They Know with Eva Simons, really good, and quite a bit different to their last three singles, a bit like something from All Saints' Studio 1 album oddly
November 9, 201014 yr I really like this album almost wholly. Shame it's underperforming. And I don't think it will do better if it was released after 'Green Light' (I mean look at Tinie Tempah). Not that many have cared about their album anyways. LOL 'What Do They Know' is really good. But I'm thinking they'll pick on something like 'Morning After'. Hmph.

But Tinie Tempah went to no.1 with his album selling 85k it first week out and it still selling well i can see it going platinum. Roll Deep on the other and are more of a single selling act.
November 10, 201014 yr But Tinie Tempah went to no.1 with his album selling 85k it first week out and it still selling well i can see it going platinum. Roll Deep on the other hand are more of a single selling act. But he released it after the 3rd single too. Of course, who would have thought he'll sell that well (and have that much buzz/exposure this year)! Though I can agree that Roll Deep are more of a single selling act.
