October 15, 201014 yr Ugh, I just listened to this- its a great song, that they are inevitably going to murder via a key change, a choir and a total terrible re-arrangement of the song :( I seriously hate these, they murder great songs and looking back on them- are totally pointless as their forgotten within a year I think it will obvs be number 1- but not huge sales, around 400k overall I'd say
October 15, 201014 yr i need to stop reading the title as herpes.. I often accidentally type in "herpes" when I want to type "heroes". Like whenever I googled Heroes, as in, the TV show, I'd type in the wrong word and get some...interesting... results. I do however, expect Lil Wayne to release a single called Herpes in the near future. Anyway, I've not heard the song yet, but I think it'll get to #1 and sell about 400,000, which is pretty decent sales tbh. I bet this is going to be a boring ballad isn't it? I wouldn't mind this if it was a really good song. Why can't the X Factor ever release a dance song or something? I suppose I should wait to hear the song before I criticize it though. Plus, it will raise a lot of money for charity, and whilst people can say "Oh, but there's other ways of donating to charity", let's face it, this song WILL raise a lot of money which would not have been raised had it not existed. October 15, 201014 yr Is this for real?!!! :o I seriously can't believe that David Bowie would let them anywhere near his tracks, I'm really quite disappointed.
October 15, 201014 yr These X Factor chairty singles are all just a way of making Simon Cowell more rich. He wants to be on the cover of Forbes magazine smiling next to Opera and the Queen!!! :drama: Anyways, it's already no. 1 - probably more of a foregone conclusion than Cheryl Cole 'Promise This' is. As for sales, I voted for 0 - 200,000. I reckon it'll sell between 150-200k in its first week. I'm sure the British public as a whole are getting bored of these "charity" singles now. 'Hero' from 2008 should've been a genuine one off - no wonder it sold over 300k in its first week. 'Heroes' will be lucky to sell in total what 'Hero' sold in its first week back in 2008. -_- Where's Peter Kay when you need him? Hope he releases an unofficial Children In Need song. His BBC Children In Need Medley last year was genius (for the music video alone).
October 15, 201014 yr Im also shocked david bowie aloowed it aswell, he was probably persuaded that its all for charity.
October 15, 201014 yr As for sales, I voted for 0 - 200,000. I reckon it'll sell between 150-200k in its first week. If you think it'll sell 150k - 200k in the first week, why did you vote for 0k - 200k? It's not going to suddenly stop selling after it's first week...

No wonder I thought the poll was being generous with some of those poll choices. :drama: (mega blonde moment :( ).

October 15, 201014 yr Where's Peter Kay when you need him? Hope he releases an unofficial Children In Need song. His BBC Children In Need Medley last year was genius (for the music video alone). I agree. I wouldn't mind a song like that going to #1. I actually preferred it to Russion Roulette. I reckon that song would've sold quite well even if it wasn't for charity, plus, at least a medley is something that is new. That medley has never existed before. Some covers are good, because they actually sound really different to the original, but that hasn't really been the case with the X Factor ones. Hopefully this new one breaks that tradition.
October 15, 201014 yr It will be No.1, due to the hype. However, it shows that Cowell has Zero imagination. In 2008, he chose Mariah Carey's 'Hero' as the Help4Heroes Charity Single. This time, it is Bowie's 'Heroes' - for the same Charity. Gordon 'Misnomer' Smart, in 'The Sun', says that 'Paper will be backing the Single all the way. If Cowell backs the same Charity in 2011, will he pick 'Holding Out For A Hero', or Enrique Iglesias 'Hero'? Where is the imagination in any of this? Cowell has none. In the past he has admited that he does not 'get' any Artists who are unusual in any way - Bowie, Kate Bush, & Bob Dylan, to name but 3. He also says that he 'deserves' more money than Bruce Springsteen, as he has 'Sold more records', than Springsteen! Cowell has Zero Musical creativity - can't sing, write songs, produce records, or play instruments, but he looks down on Acts who can! As about 80% of the 'X Factor' is finding people who look good - singing is secondary - there is no way that he'd have ever let Queen, Slade, Elton John, or Led Zeppelin, through to the Final. He'd have said that all 4 Acts were, 'Too ugly to be a success'. Yet he has the cheek to allow 'his' X Factor Acts to sing Queen etc. Songs, in the 'Rounds'. Then we have Cheryl Cole judging the Singing, when she clearly has not got a decent voice herself. When she does get on the 'X Factor' Stage, to 'Sing', she either mimes or uses autotune, & surrounds herself with loads & loads of dancers - all designed to hide the fact that she can't sing. But, she sits there in judgement on whether this or that Contestant can sing. Now we have Cowell going the 'Charity Single' route again - as he knows it is easy UK No.1 territory, & his Ego sees these No.1's - many of them Covers - as somehow making him look like a Music Tycoon. A man with all it takes to have No.1's. The whole thing is a laughable heap of garbage. Why so many buy into it, I don't know. But, if everyone saw through him, Cowell would not be rich - so he's thankful that so many are taken in.....
October 15, 201014 yr :puke2: :puke2: they love to ruin all the good songs don't they? I hope it flops but I can see it selling 70% of what last year's abomination did...

Did Cheryl actually use autotune?!? :o It seems like after that episode where they used autotune, some people thought they've used autotune in every single episode. No offense, but it is really, really obvious when people are autotuned. In the episode where they did use autotune, I come on the Internet, and everybody is talking about it of facebook, on youtube, on DS, etc. They would not have been able to hide it from tens of millions of people for half a decade! They would've been sussed out in 10 minutes. October 15, 201014 yr The most surefire number 1 since Helping Haiti surely? I always them the XF charity single
October 16, 201014 yr It will make #1 and sell around 400-600k in total. I predict the chart run to be: 1 - 4 - 11 - 25 - 33 - 51 - X
October 16, 201014 yr Is this for real?!!! :o I seriously can't believe that David Bowie would let them anywhere near his tracks, I'm really quite disappointed. Probably because of the Cowell / X-Factor influence in the media. "David, can we use your song Heroes for a Charity cover for Help the Heroes?" "No" "BOWIE REFUSES TO SUPPORT OUR BOYS"
October 16, 201014 yr However, it shows that Cowell has Zero imagination. True! I'm banking on next year's choice being Billy Don't Be A Hero! Kath
