Is the UK release date the same as the American?

At the moment, yes. I've pre-ordered it, apparently it's out Monday. It's killing me that I'm making myself wait! :(

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed...HOWEVER, it's not half as bad as I was expecting it to be after 'Your Love' and 'Right Thru Me' were chosen as singles! Yes, I prefer her songs like 'Massive Attack' and her verse in 'Monster' really is something else, but I still really like the album.

 

Highlights for me are 'Moment 4 Life', 'Blazin', 'Did It On'em', 'Save Me' and 'Here I Am'.

 

 

Oh and 'Raining Men'>>>>>>>'Fly'. :(

Blazin' is LOVE <3 I also like Here I Am and even Roman's Revenge although Eminem is way too harsh and plain rude lyrics-wise there :o I was hoping for Fly to be good but it's crap if i'm honest. What can i say? Rihanna should not get featured on other people's songs! :lol:

Super Bass and Muny have leaked, both should've been on the album. Super Bass would have been an amazing single.

'Girls Fall Like Dominoes' and 'Blow Ya Mind' have leaked too.

 

And to answer Bray's question from a few pages ago, 'Girls Fall Like Dominoes' certainly does sample The Big Pink. :D

Good album on the whole, perhaps a tad dissapointing to some extent but the hype surrounding this was so much that I suppose it's kind of inevitable.

 

I'd also like to join the 'Girls Fall Like Dominoes' love in. AMAZING.

For some reason I didn't think I would like this, but downloaded it anyways, I've almost finished listening now (still got the 6 bonus tracks to listen to though) And I've got to say I'm really really liking it, I wouldn't say there has been a bad song at all yet!

Hmm. It is a good album, it's just a lot mushier than I expected. On some of the tracks it feels like it's Rihanna singing (and I'm not talking about "Fly"). I wanted more rapping. That's why I like her.

 

The bonus tracks are better though, I also love "Girls Fall Like Dominoes". "and when I'm in the A I'm with Ciara or it's Keri. I'm feelin like a diva then I hit Mariah Carey. I'm in the UK, imma see M.I.A." etc. :wub:

I think it's just the standard edition...(except on iTunes).

 

I agree with Aaron, I'd love more rapping. And the bonus tracks are by far some of the best tracks.

Once I got over the lack or rapping etc. I actually really like the album though.

Standouts would have to be 'Blazin', 'Moment 4 Life', 'Save Me', 'Super Bass', 'Muny' and 'Girls Fall Like Dominoes'. :wub:

Dominoes is overrated. Take the sample away and it's crap.

 

At the minute I'm all about Fly (natch), Roman's Revenge (totally not my cup of tea usually but it's undeniably incredible), Save Me (lovely and vulnerable) and Super Bass.

Cash Money/Universal Motown’s red-hot Nicki Minaj also bested pre-release predictions, with a total in the 375-425k range for her hotly anticipated debut, Pink Friday, though the upcoming Black Friday could render these estimates a little less accurate than usual.

 

Such incredible sales! I think this will be the second highest debut by a female this year? And certainly one of the highest overall as well :D

It seems I'm in the minority in terms of generally preferring the slightly mellower tracks...

Looking like it'll do around 400-425k+ in the US this week. Pretty incredible considering Rihanna only opened with 200k after two number ones...
