Yeah, I really like 2NE1, Kara, T-Ara, Brown Eyed Girls (have you heard Ga-In's solo single Irreversible? AMAZING.) Whereas the only K-pop boyband I kinda like is Bigbang. Anyway, thanks for the info, but I have been following them since they debuted in Japan and I'm looning on them HARD :lol: The new Korean song Hoot sounds amazing, but I love Gee and Genie more now they are in Japanese, and I've got them both on order :)

Yes I have, my friend sent me the link to Irreversible and it is indeed incredible, I love the beat. And I'm glad I'm not alone in my SNSD love (although I prefer Gee and Genie in Korean, and the older videos are better too) it's such a shame the clip of the new song is so short though.

I've always had a thing about Japan, it's a given for me, but now I really want to visit Korea too, we're talking about it for 2012... True, the clip of Hoot is short, but apparently it will be premiered on Inkaigyo or Music Bank (don't remember which) on the 29th :w00t:

I have to say that, unless the last 6 or so songs change everything, I've been left very unimpressed by the songs so far. I've only really made two discoveries which I've really liked all that much.

I have however discovered an Ellie Goulding record that isnt bland, $h!t or both of the above so at least this contest wasnt in total waste.

Not being a bitch, but I know what Harve's saying. I know you wanted to get them out quickly Phil, but they're more or less all video rips. A couple of the songs have about 30 seconds of background/ambient noise before he song actually starts.

To be fair I think it would be unreasonable to expect Phil (or anyone) to individually quality check and edit 36 audio files...

I wasn't saying he should have, just that Pavel offered to make mp3s that weren't from the video. Just a shame is all.

Yes, I was a bit disappointed that they were Youtube rips (after we've had the luxury of not using them for ages) but I've listened to them now. Better than none at all. *shrug*

I really couldn't tell the difference between a video rip and something else. I don't really care that much either.....it's one reason why I'm perfectly fine just listening to a youtube video rather than actually having mp3s of a song.

Prior to a few contests back, we never had the luxury of MP3's every month anyway, so rather a group of mid-quality MP3's than none at all imo. Not that it bothers me anyway, my internet's completely dead and I can't even download one song from iTunes, let alone 36 songs from this!!! I know I didn't do MP3's for my contests, because frankly I don't have the time to hunt all over the internet for HQ versions of god knows how many songs! I think the youtube conversions are a perfect happy medium, and if you want better sound, source if yourself. My guess is that people will delete 80% of the songs from their iPod after the contest anyway, I know I usually only ever want about 5 or 6.

 

BJSC wouldn't quite feel right without something to complain about though I guess :drama:

The ASC and SNÁ have listened to your concerns and given the technical difficulties consider yourselves lucky that you have youtube links never mind mp3's.

 

So excuse me if i fail to address your problems, as has been said, if you want better quality mp3's i'm not gonna stop you from using google :)

You could've just chosen the higher bitrate when coverting mp3s, it'd have been better! :o But I wanted like 3 mp3s from this contest so it doesn't really bother me.
