October 24, 201014 yr Does anyone remember "Bump In The Night" by erm.. All Stars (i think), that would fit in with the Halloween theme, can't think who'd sing it. Pink's Funhouse and erm... McFly's "Transylvania". I can sort of see Katie doing this.
October 24, 201014 yr Theres not exactly a whole lot of Halloween songs to sing is there? Hmm.. could be a shambles. As for the bottom 2, TreyC is AMAZING one of the best contestants ever imo, how she was there is beyond me. Glad John is gone, he was a snoozefest. I hope Katie, Belle Amie or Wagner go next week.
October 24, 201014 yr I actually think Katie is enjoying a mini surge in popularity after the frankly inspired Jungle Book meets Marilyn perf last night and as long as she keeps things fresh and doesn't say anything too pretentious she could go a fair way now...

October 24, 201014 yr Firstly this week was class, mainly good performances with one exception. Paige – Very good, he certainly has the voice. John – Maybe a risky song but I think he nailed it and brought his own stamp to it. Rebecca – 1 word AWESOME, this girl could go all the way to the final and maybe win it. Cher – original, knows what she wants and interesting. Good performance. Matt – Very good, he is someone who knows where he wants to be. 1Direction – Still think they too young and not very good, but they were okay this week, not brilliant but better than previous weeks. Louis compared them to Justin Bieber which sums up exactly why I don’t like them. Unfortunately they won’t leave yet as they have the teenage girl vote. Trace – SUPERB! She could make the final too, but there have been upsets before. Mary – Okay, maybe doesn’t look like a star but then look at Susan Boyle! And yes she does have a good voice. She was okay. Aiden – a bit better than last week, but I still think he looks like he doesn’t want to be there sometimes. A nice twist on an old classic though. Bell Amie – I like the fact that they chose their own song, which shows some control on their part. Not too bad. Wagner – The one weak link in the competition. He comes across as the token drunken dad at a Christmas party. A complete joke! Katie – A very risky song to do, but I think she pulled it off. She is a complete breath of fresh air in the competition. I hope she doesn’t go yet. Bottom Two, neither deserved to come bottom two especially Treyc, thankfully the right person stayed. John was good but Treyc was better. Whoever is voting for the dancing dad (Wagner) needs their head seeing to!
October 25, 201014 yr I seriously don't get all the Cher-bummage? :( She's nothing but a poor, knock off version of Alesha Dixon.i don't get the Alesha Dixon comparison  i don't hate her (Alesha) but I don't particularly like her. I couldn't care about her as much as i do Cher. maybe it's just me, but I like to think that Cher is more, Keri Hilson in her style and stuff, but she's not being shown to her full potential, with mainstream songs on X Factor. The same thing happened with JLS. They were slowly turned into a black Westlife because of the shows mainstream biasedness and limited song choices etc... But they've gone on to give us a very decent album that is much more their style (hence why they've been so successful). I'm hoping the Cher > Alesha Dixon comparisons are like the JLS > Westlife comparisons they got, because of the show they were on and stuff. It's the main reason why I don't actually want Cher to win XF and would just prefer it if she got eliminated in the final 5 minimum. (i'm trying to word and make that as clear as it sounds to me in my head) haha so i'm sorry if none of it makes sense lol.
October 25, 201014 yr If anybody has forgettable performances its Rebecca. She is amazingly talented and a fantastic singer/person but I just feel her songs are so one trick pony-ish and aren't really making her stand out for me as much as she did before the live shows. Nice to see the right person went.I LOVE YOU  I really should love Rebecca, but all of her performances have been dull and completely forgettable and I am really annoyed, coz I really should love her, but her song choices have been really, really safe and bleh. She deserves better. :(

I don't see how Cher is like Alesha Dixon at all  I hate the comparisons between the contestants and existing artists, but it is always going to happen as they are singing covers and not their own original material JLS are nothing like Westlife imo, but as Louis was always giving them Westlife songs or ballads.. They soon started to turn into them by the end of the show Even after they were signed, Epic wanted the producers to write/produce another "Flying Without Wings", but luckily Steve Mac and Wayne Hector said no and gave the boys "Beat Again" instead

Didn't know the last bit. But I agree with you, definitely. And marrb, for once I agree with you too haha. I also instantly thought Rebecca will get 'I Put A Spell On You', but I would want her to try the Sonique, dancey version as opposed to the dull, standing on one spot sort of performance. She really does deserve better.

October 25, 201014 yr oh wow. I didn't either until I read an interview with Steve Mac: It was with Hector that you wrote JLS’ ‘Beat Again’. How did that song come together? That was one of the times where I got a track together with Wayne in the room. I was playing the chords, the hook-line, and Wayne started singing over the top of it. The irony of that song is we were in for a week and for the first four and a half days we thought we’d written the best song we’d ever written - this was another ‘Flying Without Wings’ for us, this was our big one! And at the end of the session we had two hours to spare and wrote ‘Beat Again’. That first song we wrote, no one has cut that still, but ‘Beat Again’ – which only took two hours to write - is hugely successful. Go figure [laughs]. You then played it to Nick Raphael (HQ interview), who decided it would be the lead off single? Nick came down to the studio to have a meeting with me because he wanted another ballad for them. He said, “We’ve got this boyband from the show, JLS. We want to go down more of a Boyz II Men route, like ‘End Of The Road’. Could you give us another ‘Flying Without Wings’?”. Doing another boyband didn’t really interest me and in this current climate, I’m not sure a boyband doing ballads is going to be received that well at radio and by the public. So I said, “Well, I can’t do that, but let me play you some other stuff I’ve been working on anyway.” I said, “I don’t think this one is for you guys, but I really like this song. It’s only a rough …” And I played ‘Beat Again’ to him, which was called ‘No Beat’ at the time. He just flipped. He said, “I need to take this away with me. I love this - can I have it?” I never would have thought a song like that would go to a boyband.
