I don't even know what happened before. I'd pasted all my chart information into the post box but then hit the enter button to go to the next line and for some bizarre reason it posted my chart 90% completed. :manson: Hence there is no poll this week. :( (I can't edit polls into my own thread). :drama:

 

Anyways, I don't think Rihanna will dominate my chart in the same way 'Bad Romance' did last year. There is something I really like about 'Only Girl' though - the production on the track and the soaring chorus with those big synths. I don't care if it sounds "generic". :lol: There's another new release in 4 weeks time that I reckon could potentially replace Rihanna from the no. 1 spot - and even that's depending on how well Nadine Coyle does. I suppose it'll be a nice change to have a female artist at no. 1 in my chart. :P

It could well as Katy Perry has been no. 6 in the last few midweek updates but is still no. 2 on iTunes. Still good for Mike Posner - another of those singles that's climbed up the UK chart with a traditional chart run showing the songs rise in popularity.

It's definitely been a slow burner considering it's been available on UK iTunes since around July? All thanks to Cher sort of performing the song at boot camp during The X Factor. Anything to help boost the popularity of a new single. I do quite like 'Cooler Than Me' but at least for this week not enough to dent my top 5. It's very similar to Sam Sparro 'Black And Gold' which at the time I thought was an excellent track and that did get to no. 1 in my chart. Mike Posner could climber - only time will tell.

...and YouTube is your friend (check out the video below). Popular dance track that's already been a hit in Greece and Cyprus and spent a couple of weeks in the Hitstastic European Top 30 off the back of this several weeks back. It's not the most instant of dance tracks - in fact, I'd say this is quite subtle but has managed to continue rising over 4 weeks which is a rare achievement in my chart. If I had to compare this to any other dance track, I'd say it's similar to 'King Of My Castle' by Warmdue Project.

Sugababes? Really? :o :lol: Can't say I think of Sugababes when I listen to this track. It sort of amazes me just how popular Adam Lambert is in certain European countries (Finland for example) whilst he just hasn't grabbed the UK's attention despite having one really strong song ('Whataya Want From Me') and this is decent enough too. Bizarrely, I didn't get the big deal over 'For Your Entertainment' yet that's the only UK top 40 hit Adam has had so far. Go figure!!! :lol:

Maybe it's a reflection on Kylie's plummet in the UK chart but I didn't see the video to this once all of last week. Yes, this is very inoffensive but also bland. I had listened to the new Rumer single which was on the release schedule but I found that song to be even more bland than this. I still sort of like 'Rollerblades' but it's nowhere near enough to warrent a higher placing. No doubt this song could well be dropping out of my top 40 next week. It's good enough for one week at #31. Like with Kylie, despite being the latest single it seems 'Pack Up' is still by far the most popular single in general.

It's alright in small doses but gets irritating after awhile :lol:

Like I posted last week, the 2:20 UK Radio Edit is long enough. Even I would get vored of 'Barbra Streisand' if the track went on for much longer. The fact the original is almost 5 minutes long is mind boggling - I guess people who listen to that version must have a short attention span. :kink:

It's definitely been a slow burner considering it's been available on UK iTunes since around July? All thanks to Cher sort of performing the song at boot camp during The X Factor. Anything to help boost the popularity of a new single. I do quite like 'Cooler Than Me' but at least for this week not enough to dent my top 5. It's very similar to Sam Sparro 'Black And Gold' which at the time I thought was an excellent track and that did get to no. 1 in my chart. Mike Posner could climber - only time will tell.

 

10 (13) Mark Angelo feat. Shaya - Far From Everything (17-16-13-10) [4 wks] I have no idea what this is...

 

...and YouTube is your friend (check out the video below). Popular dance track that's already been a hit in Greece and Cyprus and spent a couple of weeks in the Hitstastic European Top 30 off the back of this several weeks back. It's not the most instant of dance tracks - in fact, I'd say this is quite subtle but has managed to continue rising over 4 weeks which is a rare achievement in my chart. If I had to compare this to any other dance track, I'd say it's similar to 'King Of My Castle' by Warmdue Project.

Sugababes? Really? :o :lol: Can't say I think of Sugababes when I listen to this track. It sort of amazes me just how popular Adam Lambert is in certain European countries (Finland for example) whilst he just hasn't grabbed the UK's attention despite having one really strong song ('Whataya Want From Me') and this is decent enough too. Bizarrely, I didn't get the big deal over 'For Your Entertainment' yet that's the only UK top 40 hit Adam has had so far. Go figure!!! :lol:

Flicking through the music channels this morning whilst eating my breakfast I got to Clubland TV and what was playing? 'All The Lovers' (well, a remixed version) but it proves that the popular songs still get played whilst a more recent single that didn't do well is pretty much forgotton about.

Five weeks in my top 5 is wonderful; five weeks at no. 1 is even better!!! :lol: The last track to achieve 5 weeks at no. 1 was Owl City 'Fireflies' which had its run at no. 1 cross over 2009/2010. Technically, Owl City spent three weeks at no. 1 in 2010. :D

To be fair 'Bumpy Ride' by Mohombi hasn't been released in the UK yet. :P It's been massive across Europe and as such entered the Hitstastic European Top 30 making the track qualifiable for my personal chart (ie; my chart doesn't strictly use the UK release schedule). 'Far From Everything' hasn't been released in the UK. It's also benefitted from entering the HET30 so is also able to chart here.

Diana Vickers? :P 'Cooler Than Me' is a great track, imo, but fell short of my top 5 which I was liking more last week. I do wonder if Mike Posner will end up like Sam Sparro - successful debut single only for the follow up to fade without trace.

I guess 'Bumpy Ride' is a bit too Europop for the UK market although that didn't hinder 'Start Without You' by Alexandra Burke getting to no. 1 for a fortnight. 'Miss Me' is so bland I've forgotton how it goes whilst the song is still playing. :(

Oh yes, it's all about the instrumental. I've grown to like the Tinie Tempah vocal mix hence climbing for three consecutive weeks. As of this week, it's equalled the peak of 'One (Your Name)'. Whether this can climb again is left to be seen.

Don't think I've ever heard that song. Then again I wasn't compiling a personal chart in 2002 so even if I had stumbled across the song, it wouldn't have made any major impact on me whatsoever (in terms of chart performance :kink: ). Glad you like it though, makes a nice change if somebody discovers a track via my chart. :D (it's usually always the other way round).

The poll is there just to add a bit of interactivity. Always has been a feature within my chart threads ever since the days of Cool Clarity and it's stuck since then. There is no real significance to the poll but it does show which of the tracks are the most popular in general, but then I could predict the results before I even post my chart and would probably be correct. :lol:
