Is the new version of the silence even available to download yet?

 

I can't find it anywhere.

 

ISTM that's irrelevant - if people wanted the song that much, they could have bought it at any time over the last few months...

 

No, it wont have the same effect of Leona's, that was unique. Everyone was talking about it even before the incredible X Factor performance, Run went on to sell 650,000 on downloads alone for just being epic (also was #1 on both TV & Radio).

 

IMO, 'Run' is the only decent song to ever come out of XF, and even then Snow Patrol must get a lot of the credit...

Don't get me wrong, I don't want Silence to be #1, just think the possibility is being ignored a bit in the iTunes thread. I take on board the differences with Run, but it's not as if Alex's album has sold millions so there'll be a market for it. The new version v old version thing is irrelevant I think.

If the old v new comparisons is irrelevant why is The Silence not in the top 100 then? One X Factor performance is not going to get it anywhere near #1. It has no support from TV or Radio and no hype. Low top 10 fans should be happy with. Well we'll see by the end of tonight/tomorrow and as the week goes on..

 

I'm guessing #11 is the highest it'll get. Seriously. The album has sold too much and Alexandra will be completely overshadowed with Glee and BEP's tonight.

I think they chose to do a deluxe because they want to it to be at least a million seller, i think if normal edition sold 700,000 the deluxe may sell 300,000 but its not going to be huge..they just want to call it a million seller. Thats why i think they didnt move on to album #2.

I think it has more to do with the fact they're copying the formula they used for Leona - except it's not a new song.
