Cheryl Cole set for second solo number one

Cheryl Cole looks set to score her second solo number one single this Sunday, with Promise This likely to de-throne Bruno Mars' Just The Way You Are (Amazing) from the top of the charts.

Singles

Promise This (Polydor), the first single to be taken from Cole’s second solo album Messy Little Raindrops, has sold almost 70,000 copies so far this week, after Cole performed it on last Saturday’s X Factor, putting it ahead of Rihanna’s Only Girl (In The World) [Def Jam].

Mars’ Just The Way You Are (Amazing), which topped the charts for a second time on Sunday, looks likely to drop to three. New singles from Tim Berg (Seek Bromance on Ministry of Sound), Yasmin (Runaway on Island) and Peter Andre (Defender on Conehead) should also challenge for the top 20.

Albums

On the albums chart, a slew of new entries look unlikely to topple Kings of Leon’s Come Around Sundown (Columbia) from the number one slot.

It has sold another 23,000 copies so far this week to add to its 183,289 in first week of release, putting it ahead of new albums from Joe McElderry (Joe McElderry on Syco), The Wanted (The Wanted on Geffen) and Taylor Swift (Speak Now on Mercury).

New albums from Barbra Streisand, Elton John & Leon Russell, The Soldiers, Bryan Ferry and Charlotte Church should challenge for the top 20, while the debut album from the hotly-tipped Warpaint (The Fool on Rough Trade) should make the top 40.

Its not that hard.

[05] Do not use BLOCK CAPITALS when posting a sentence its considered as shouting and rude.

Haha naughty Mikey ^_^

Should be a good week for pop music !

And hopefully next time we'll see Cheryl and Rihanna on top, it will be with their collaboration :kink:

I hope they'll give us the sales for Cheryl and Rihanna, it will be very exciting to watch!

Prediction

1 Cheryl Cole - 50k

2 Rihsus - 35-40k

Albums

1 Kings of Leon

2 Joe McElderry

5 Taylor Swift

Top 10: Swedish House Mafia

Can you not start the hate in here, its a mid thread otherwise I won't bother to post the update at all. It only takes one member to shake things up and members start biting back. Its not that bloody difficult.

I don't think sales will be that close.

Rihanna will close the gap more by the end of the week, but I think Cheryl will have a bigger lead today.

And the sales figures you've put are WAY OFF! :P

Cheryl last year sold 500,000 + when she performed on X Factor

Drama in the mid-week thread!!!

He was only predicting!

Cheryl last year sold 500,000 + when she performed on X Factor

Haha more like 300k

I think she will be around 60k today though ...

Cheryl last year sold 500,000 + when she performed on X Factor

LOL are you sure it wasn't 5 millions?

She did 293K on first week with FFTL, I reckon she should sell 150K this time.

I think she'll be around 130k - 140k this week, with 'Promise This'.

I do get how it upsets you, but you don't call someone The Racist with no reason at the top of the thread. As a mod, you should at least edit his post in my opinion.

EDIT: Thanks Mikey ^_^

I've edited his post, it seems everyone has quoted it as I was doing the changes., can everyone now re-edit the posts.

Other than Helping Haiti I think Katy Perry has the record with 126k or something along those lines?

Cheryl should easily beat that I'm thinking.

I'm more interested in the albums this week and how they line up...

I'm more interested in the albums this week and how they line up...

I'm especially curious about The Wanted and Joe McElderry. Wonder how their albums will do.

I predict #3 for The Wanted and #8 for Joe.
