Adele is on 9.409 AI (+ 0.314) as of today, so radio are still being reluctant in playing her despite her terrific album and digital single sales over there. However, it could grow over time, we will just have to wait and see. Same goes for J-Lo who's on 10.773 AI (+ 0.233) which is a pretty poor increase for such a radio friendly and high selling song. Katy is taking off with ET now though after a slow start. As of today she's on 21.365 AI (+ 2.528), she's getting huge increases at the moment, so it's not out of the question for her to climb to the top in the coming weeks.

^ I think Rolling in the Deep is more radio-friendly than On the Floor to be honest. Living in Europe (even the UK), a song like On the Floor doesn't seem too out of place, but we're talking about a country where We No Speak Americano and Stereo Love couldn't go top 10. On the Floor is more directed to pop than dance, and has a rap verse, which will help it, but even so. I went on holiday to America last year, and I must say, based on what I experienced, On the Floor would be very out of place there (probably more-so than Rolling in the Deep).

However, my experience from 3 weeks in the US might not be an accurate representation of general life there, so take it for what it's worth. Hopefully both songs will increase on airplay. Adele will DEFINITELY increase on airplay, although the main problem here is that her airplay could peak when her sales are low, resulting in a not so good peak position on the Hot 100, but this happens to a plethora of songs, to be honest. Adele is not the only one.

Tinie is up to #67!!!! :w00t: :cheer:

Adele down to #4 behind BTW, S&M and Blow...

:( Hopefully it can reclimb/stay around for a long time.

For what it's worth, I saw the video for Blow yesterday! A little bit awesome.

Tinie is now #58 :D Hopefully he can break the top 50 soon

97. Sweet Disposition - The Temper Trap

Have the US only just latched onto this or has it been around a while without me noticing?

97. Sweet Disposition - The Temper Trap

Have the US only just latched onto this or has it been around a while without me noticing?

It was a hit on alternative radio well over a year ago and reached No. 8 on Bubbling Under.

So my guess is that it's being used in an advert...Again.

Christina Perri certainly isn't a country artist! More like a midway point between Evanescence and Sara Bareilles...

Oh, I just assumed from the name it'd be a faceless country artist. That generally tends to be the case when I see a name I don't recognise on the BBH100 :P 'Jar Of Hearts' is quite a country sounding name as well

 Bray at all those "faceless country acts"

You seem to dislike country no matter who sings it.. All those pop acts (Cataracs, Dev, Posner, Taio Cruz etc etc) seem more faceless to me

For example Zac Brown Band's previous single 'As She's Walking Away' is amazing and $h!ts on most songs there.

Aaron Lewis is actually the lead singer of Staind btw

And my favourite title of a country song is 'She Thinks My Tractor Is Sexy' Go Kenny Chesney :P

I have yet to hear a single country song that isn't completely terrible. And all country songs sound exactly the same regardless of the artist, hence 'faceless'. I disapprove of the genre as a whole. There are songs I like in just about every single genre except country, which is just awful.

Conclusion: Country is $h!te.

Miranda Lambert cannot be included in the 'awful' or 'faceless' categories :o She is a GODDESS! Sugarland are amazing too! But yeah, the rest are awful!
To be honest, some country hits are awful...Especially if they don't have the "the title is hilarious" factor

I think Brad Paisley ran out of song title ideas, his song currently in the BBH100 is called 'This Is Country Music'. Thanks for the warning Brad. :D

People liked Country music when Shania Twain was still around :(

Now this is interesting...What exactly makes those two acts better than other female country singers or groups?

I'm not a fan of country music, although I have liked a few country songs where they've very heavily mixed with pop (obvious one, Love Story, which I could just about tolerate ).
