No3- Rihanna ft Britney Spears/ S&M RE-MIX

No4- Adele/ Rolling In The Deep

No13- Tinie Tempah ft Eric Turner/ Written In The Stars

No704- Tinie Tempah/ Pass Out

Got to give it to rihanna and her label, they are so clever! I knew they'd push to get S&M to #1, its #2 on hot 100 and got the potential and they really know how to push it right up there. I'm sure she'd perform S&M on AI, will sales be added to original version? as Britney has been added it's a little more difficult to know whether they'll add the sales, but the song is pretty much exactly the same so I would think yes..but will britney be credited now?

RITD doing so so well  Must have huge sales over there now :o :D

I believe the Hot 100 credit comes with the more popular version - which makes over than 50% of the points. Correct me if I'm wrong.

It's either this or whichever sells the most!

2. S&M (Remix) - Rihanna featuring Britney Spears

Albums:

1. Wasting Light (Deluxe Version) - Foo Fighters

2. Who You Are - Jessie J :o

3. Wasting Light - Foo Fighters

AH NO WAY!

Jessie J was at #1 earlier for a short period :o

That's crazy look at the British artists doing well over there:

Tinie Tempah

Ellie G ( Briefly)

Adele

Jessie J.

Fantastic!

When was Ellie doing well in the USA?

Mumford & Sons can also be on that list, two top 50 hits and a #2 album. :D

Wait, so if the Britney version sells more/gets more points than the original this week, and it goes to #1, it'll count as a #1 for Britney?

And if Rihanna's version sells more this week, and the Britney mix next week, then the same song will be #1 twice, but with different credits?

I always assumed it worked the same way as in the UK, but I never really looked into it before.

Go Jessie, I am amazed. I was hoping her album got into the top 20 but to be at #2 on itunes is an amazing sign! C'mon S&M Remix, get that #1. Rn'B (get it?) takeover :kink:

For Hot 100 it would be

S&M by Rihanna

and

S&M by Rihanna featuring Britney Spears.

The same song, Britney might get the credit. "Due to the similar characteristics of the song" (Billboard have used this explanation)

Pretty unlikely though as it might have 50% of the points if it sold 275k/week which it is not doing atm. But I'm not sure about Billboard's policy here.

There have been numerous occasions before:

Right Round was credited only for Flo Rida at first, Kesha was added after one week at no. 1. That wasn't a remix but change of credit nevertheless.

'I'm a Flirt' was credited Bow Wow featuring R. Kelly at first. But it became tricky. The song was scheduled to be the second single released from Bow Wow's fifth album The Price of Fame. Instead, it appears as a bonus track on the album. The remix of "I'm a Flirt" became the first single from R. Kelly's album Double Up and peaked at #12 on the Billboard Hot 100. So the final credit was R. Kelly or Bow Wow featuring T-Pain & T.I.

Macarena was titled as Macarena (Bayside Boys Mix) in 1996 because the mix was practically the only version getting attention.

Ah cool. Yeah, we'll see what happens then. Thanks for explaining. :)

 Good one! Yeah, really pleased for Jessie J!

And Who You Are (the song) is up to #100 on iTunes! :o Perhaps she should release that as the 2nd single in the US. It'll be either that, Do It Like a Dude or Nobody's Perfect, I'd guess.

^ Oooh! Tense!

Btw, how far through the chart week in terms of the sales are they in the US? If there's only a couple of days left that might not be enough to dethrone Katy this week, but it should be safe for next week anyway.

Sales tracking starts on a Tuesday I think, with Radio tracking starting on a Monday?

Thanks. :) If that's how it works, S&M should safely get it then!! :D And I'm assuming the Monday is the day before the Tuesday, not the one 6 days after?

will there be a video for the S&M Remix?
