Then don't moan that The Saturdays aren't top 10 combined with both versions. ;) :P

Is the urban era coming to an end! :o Is Dance the next big thing! :o All to be revealed in 2011 ;)

Urban will still do well when it offers some originality, like Tinie Tempah does. 2011 is usupposed to be the year of dubstep so we'll probably see a load of #1's from artists melding urban and dubstep.

Roll Deep releasing a weaker version of their two #1's, Tinchy Stryder releasing a far inferior version of Take Me Back and Ironik trying to replicate the success of Chipmunk's Oopsy Daisy with a far inferior song won't cut it with the British public.

Urban will always dominate, especially US urban, but British urban whilst I don't believe is on the way back out, does need to offer some more originality now instead of regurgitating poorer versions of old hits or else these flop situations will happen.

Oh yeah  Tinie Tempah will still be around!

Ironik was never successful to be honest and does inferior mean better? Personally I believe Roll Deeps songs have been just as good as each other, but that's because they're practically identical. The British get bored of same old same old. All the successful urban artists of 2009 will probably fade away fairly quickly, I can't see Dizzee Rascal or Chipmunk doing too well in the future.

The US urban has new innovative ideas (B.o.B, will.i.am) and they're all fairly different.

And dubstep better not be the next big thing! Not because 'Chavs' like it, but because it's practically boring dance music, without no excitement, passion, emotion or originality. I don't believe it will be, as Perfect Stranger didn't live up to it's expectations, and that is 'purer' dubstep, rather than I Need Air, or Katy On A Mission. But it will get bigger.

Happiness is one of those songs I couldn't predict, but I'm so glad it'd doing well! I hope it goes top 3 officially!!!
For UK urban to be successful it has to have a pop/dance influence, which Dizzee Rascal realised, and other artists followed. There is a lot of talent in the UK grime scene, but they won't have success unless they follow the now tired forumla, which betrays that originality, turning itself into a vicious circle; Cher is a shining example of what UK urban is being reduced to - commericliased, americanised and boring, which is the complete opposite of what that genre is supposed to be.

does inferior mean better?

No, it's the exact opposite of better.

The word for better ending with 'erior' is superior.

Yeah right - when I'm listening to the chart show & Reggie leaps straight into a record without announcing it, I am completely stymied if its male urban R&B - because it all sounds the bloody same to me! :(

Prediction game next week - which Cheryl album track to go with (i.e. which is most likely to go top 40/75)?

British Urban Music is going nowhere.Although it is a shame that Dizzee, Roll Deep and Tinchy are making blander and blander songs.Tinnie, Giggs and Scorcher are still trying to do original and interesting music.I think 2011 will bring a huge change and the ladies of UK Grime will finally get the attention and success they deserve Cherri V, Ruff Diamondz and Shystie.Ladies who can actually sing and rap properly and are not cheap imitators like Cher.

You are a grammar maniac  I can always rely on you to correct me

That's vocabulary, not grammar :P

Anyway, Tinchy and Roll Deep really do seem to be flopping so far :o I'd expect they'll both climb into the top 20 tomorrow but still...

Well aren't Nadine Coyle's record company clever? Can't believe they've not released the song already - that's one days sales automatically lost and will be lucky to recover. Then again 'Club Can't Handle Me' wasn't available to buy until Monday and that rocketed up iTunes.

She doesn't have the major record company, she's on her own independent - "Black Pen". But her manager who makes most of the decisions - Bruce - is the horror of manager. I blame firstly him for ruining her career completely.

Knowing the sadness about literally EVERYTHING (bar quality of the songs) concerning Nadine's album I'm not shocked that she wasn't released today  , but I'm completely SHOCKED how badly are Roll Deep going! :o Recently Alesha has become someone like "anti-philosophers' stone" as everything she touches underperforms, despite being potentially huge.

Now let's hope RiRi's bar EXPLODES.
