I'd reiterate a point I made in another thread though, that I think a list of the entries that were eventually banned really needs to be posted for transparancy's sake.

Have entries pm'd to you and then we need you to regularly PM a mod with the list of entries [without the countries, so just artist-title i.e. Sugababes - Hole In The Head instead of Ashton - Sugababes - Hole In The Head] so we can check the entries an let you know if we have any problems.

As for the entry restrictions thing, how is that going to work? Aren't the mods meant to screen entries now, and unless one of us hosts, we won't be able to...
See above ^_^

Rejected entries this month were:

Duck Sauce - Barbra Streisand

Clare Maguire - Ain't Nobody

That was it. People seemed to understand our desire for unknown tracks which was epic.

Nobody tried to send Whip My Hair?!
Yeah I can't do it - my internet's still capped from apparently exceeding 60gb  I have no idea when it's coming back either.

Two of my housemates started their courses a month after they moved in and I get the impression that in that free time they were basically just sitting at home streaming movies online all day and night long. Hence 60gb being reached. When it comes back, they certainly won't be doing it next time - we've had words :P

I think that must be what's wrong with my internet at the moment. I've been streaming a lot of American TV lately. And I can't currently watch S02E05 of Glee because of the slow speed :(

I might have a word with my dad, see if it's worth upgrading to unlimited. I don't know what the price difference is between capped & unlimited, but last month they charged him about £13 extra or something, a pound for every extra gb I used.

edit: Just looked it up. BT Broadband seems to be £15.99 for 10gb, or only an extra £5 (so £20.99) for 40gb

Somebody tried to send Barbra Streisand? Was it not ridiculously obvious how big that was going to be!

I'm still shocked that nobody attempted to send Le Kid - We Should Go Home Together! Would have given Zoe a run for her money.

That is too expensive! I downloaded 10GB today alone. Unlimited internet FTW.

I pay £10 per month for Unlimited Sky Broadband with a speed of upto 20mb/sec :funky:

I also have Sky Talk, Sky TV and Sky Landline so i get a fiver knocked off the internet price.

I pay the same, only for 20 times lower speed LOL. However it can go as high as 8Mb/sec on torrents and about 4Mb/sec on downloading from Megaupload in the morning until 9am, the recently discovered fact

Pahahahaha!!! Somebody tried to send Barbra Streisand? Oh dear. That is quite impressive that only 2 entries were attempted that could be classed as cheap.

Rich, you're missing Ace of Base :P

So will we be having about a weeks break before the next contest starts or is it longer?

I've forgotten whether the time between each was a week or longer now? :S

lol what for?

I was making a joke of what Pavel said, dw

We're not going back to the old way of having a regular as clockwork period between contests - we're going to be reducing it to about eight contests per twelve month period, so it'll still be roughly monthly-ish. We're probably going to have TBO before the next contest.

I didn't get it :(

We all know Addy's the impatient one! :heehee:

Please please don't. I really think that'd be a terrible idea, given the long wait before this contest. I think the contest needs a couple more regular contests, relatively soon for it to find its feet again. I appreciate that you're intending to make TBO more inclusive, but I think if it came now then things would just grind to a halt more than they have done. Things on the forum are picking up slightly thanks to the results, therefore I think we need to be hit with another contest SOON in order to develop that. Even if the contests aren't going to be as regular from now on I really think that XXX needs to come quickly after XXIX in order to build up the momentum again.

Surely The Best Of should be after every ten contests as usual anyway? Why not have BJSC XXX this month (doesn't matter if it's at the end of the month) and the Best of during December? Would seem a bit odd having it covering 21-29...
What do we mean by finding its feet again? I think in terms of activity most of the lack of it this contest could be put down to the anonymity concept, but we're kidding ourselves if we think we're going to get much more activity anyway if we do another one now - the major reason for the lack of activity since the Silly Boy contest I think has mainly come from all of the main participants going to university (an affect even more pronounced this year). I don't think it'd make much difference having another contest next week rather than in four weeks - we don't really have anybody raring to join the contest at the moment, so yeah. A big big part of the contest losing its mojo towards the end also came from people starting to think it was a bit overdone (combined with the other factors - the predictable results etc.) which is also why we're quite reluctant to go back to having 'permanent BJSC' - although I appreciate that that's not quite what you're proposing there :P
