It's Mel B's 50th birthday today! Happiest of birthdays to her 🥰

  • 2 weeks later...
She's hosting the second Season of a show called The Fashion Hero.

Spice Girl Mel B is set to host the second season of model search competition “The Fashion Hero.”

Produced by BBC Studios-backed Rapid Blue (“X-Factor,” “Dancing With The Stars”), the show will be shot at South Africa’s Sun City Resort in the spring.

Representatives from four international brands will be appointed show judges and mentors and will ultimately select a winner to become part of one of their international marketing campaigns. One overall winner will become the face and ambassador of The Fashion Hero.

Mel B said: “Finally a show has come along that stands for everything I believe in. ‘Fashion Hero’ is my dream job because it’s not so much a television show as a movement.

“When I joined the Spice Girls there weren’t many singers in British girl bands who looked like me. I was different, we were all different and that was something we wanted to celebrate,” the singer continued.

“I have never fitted into any conventional mould and I wouldn’t ever want to. The whole world needs to learn that there is not one thing that makes someone beautiful, there are hundreds of things that makes someone special, beautiful and extraordinary and very few of them are skin deep.”

Caroline Bernier, president of Beauty World Search and executive producer of ‘The Fashion Hero,’ added: “[Mel B] is an inspirational figure and is sure to spice up the show with her positive attitude. Mel’s values of self-love and empowerment align perfectly with ours and we can’t wait to get started on production in South Africa next year.”

Melanie's solo career really is the saddest one for me, as she has so much talent wasted on these pointless endeavours...

Good luck to her, I hope she has fun and bring her a few more coins. But I do hope she gets to do better in the future.

I know..

But at this point, I am just happy for her getting these kind of gigs. Which channel will broadcast this show?

Aparently it is an Amazon Prime programme, so online.

Again, good for her that she is working again and keeping busy. Just wish she would be more selective of her projects, but each to their own...

I've been reading some comments on Twitter that Mel mentioned on the radio today that Glastonbury has been cancelled this year  I can't find the clip myself, but we can always trust on Mel for spilling things that no one knows about yet.

She really needs a padlock on that mouth of hers sometimes.

I think the best we can hope for this year is something to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Spice in November.

Glastonbury co-organiser Emily Eavis has denied claims made by former Spice Girl Mel B that this year’s festival has been cancelled.

Speaking to Nihal Arthanayake on BBC Radio 5 Live, Melanie Brown said she had been told on Monday that the event was off, indicating that the girl band were due to appear in the festival’s Sunday evening “legends” slot as part of their 25th anniversary celebrations.

Brown said: “I know that Glastonbury’s been cancelled, so a lot of big stage performances are on hold again this year, which is sad but we’ve got to get this virus under control.”

Eavis swiftly tweeted that they had “no news this end”, and that announcements would come direct from the event’s organisers.

Girlfriend has all the (inaccurate) gossip. x
For what it's worth, I know KSI's manager and he's said to me it's cancelled unfortunately! Or at least unless there are some major developments, but they usually get ready for it quite early in the year.
So it seems that Glastonbury weren't ready to confirm this, and are perhaps annoyed that Mel B has talked about it before they gave official word on it? I wonder why they're wanting to hold off confirming the cancellation?

I think it's due to everything being up in the air and no one knowing how fast the vaccine will be out or if it even works.

I'm assuming it is a money decision as to not reveal the cancellation. I mean Melanie C and Little Mix have tours scheduled for April/May and haven't been cancelled. It's all about money.

Melanie C said that her team will be told in January what is going on regarding the tour.

Sod all to do with money.

I guess now its going to be delayed!!

Of course it is about money. They are trying to ensure that people dont cancel their tickets and their insurance keeps things rolling. The later, the better for them but the worse for the fans...

It's obvious that things wont be back to normal by April in the UK, and probably not till end of Summer anyway, the way things are going here...
