The will cancel when they have to.

If anything, they will postpone the dates and not cancel.

It's Mel B's 50th birthday today! Happiest of birthdays to her 🥰

Of course it is about money. They are trying to ensure that people dont cancel their tickets and their insurance keeps things rolling. The later, the better for them but the worse for the fans...

It's obvious that things wont be back to normal by April in the UK, and probably not till end of Summer anyway, the way things are going here...

Yep, it's well known in the industry no tour is going ahead till summer at least. Melanie C will know the tour is cancelled it is all about when it can be announced with regards to insurance.

Exactly the same with Glastonbury, Paul McCartney has already said he has been informed it's cancelled as I'm sure all acts have been told.

If anything, they will postpone the dates and not cancel.

Thats what i meant.

i have flights to milan but think i am able to move the flights if needed.

The will cancel when they have to.

Glastonbury has been cancelled, just not announced yet as they are preparing for the announcement behind the scenes including writing statements, having conversations with artists about the cancellation (which takes MONTHS as it is a huge line up), designing the announcement, working on press releases, negotiating with the insurance company, etc. All of this takes time. I know this, I work in theatre and events production.

With Mel C's tour they are probably rescheduling now, which also takes time, but they know by now that it is not going to happen in April. I mean, it would be very silly to do the tour in April at all, they know this.

It's well known by now that events like that and tours wont happen before the Summer in the UK at the very least. But they will announce delays and cancellations when they are ready to.

Mel B right now:

This. Let's put some respect on Mel B for once!!

I honestly think Mel B never lies she just jumps the gun. I can see them sending 4 messages about the possibility of say new music and Mel B is on a talk show the next day and says they are going to record new music hopefully. It then never materialises and she looks bad.

Yeah I think this is true too.

Uhhh. I think Mel B...mostly...jumps the gun. But there have been cases I'd consider...wishful thinking.

I can't remember the literal litany of things Mel B has claimed over the years. But I could give a few that I don't think were ever truly in the cards. In 2001, she claimed the group would continue releasing Forever singles in 2002. Knowing the behind-the-scenes of this now, this definitely wasn't ever true. After the first reunion tour, Mel claimed she was recording a song with Janet Jackson and that she'd join her on tour. Janet's reps basically laughed this off as absurd. (she also said she was working with Missy again during this time...but I'll accept that as more plausible) Then, there was Mel's claim that the full group would be at the royal wedding.

Anyway. A lot of it's harmless. Mel claiming GEM is about to choose and release their single may not...totally be in the pipeline, but it raises her profile for a moment. Nobody (except for fans) seem to remember those claims or hold her to it. But. Stuff like the Janet Jackson and royal wedding claims are so easily disprovable...I think its a little embarrassing. I also have to assume it's not great for the group dynamics that nothing can be discussed in private without Mel telling it to the world (...like the announcement to an entire stadium about an Australian tour)

See you absolutely have no idea what went on behind the scenes about the Royal wedding.

Victoria 'I've been invited to the royal wedding'

Simon 'It would be amazing press if you all went together, I'll put feelers out to see if that is possible'

All the other girls 'yes please I'll be there if we can go'

This sort of thing could easily be emailed behind the scenes.

To be fair Mel did go on to say that she'd recieved the invitation from Buckingham Palace and then gave some bizarre description of it. I don't think she intends to lie I think she thinks that if she puts it out into the universe then it might actually happen.

Oh yeah of course, I agree. I dont think she 'lies' about it, it might just be a miscomunication from how the group receives information and might get misconstrued. But yes she does always jump the gun, I think that is fairer...

But consider this....Remember she was going on about the group going on tour in 2014, 2016, etc, we found out eventually those things were being planned even though only Mel talked about it publicly then and everyone laughed at her, and then laughed again in 2018 when she wouldnt shup up about it and then it was real!

When she was talking about the group releasing more music into 2002 right? We dont know if internally some of the girls had talked about it. Maybe Mel herself and Victoria might have wanted to do some group stuff cos their solo bits werent exactly setting the charts on fire... And maybe Bunton was up for it too cos she has never said no to a reunion and was always very supportive of that album... Maybe there were some talks about it but then essentially it didnt happen...

Yeah she could chill on that front sometimes but actually if it wasnt for Mel B we wouldnt have much of a clue about plans going ahead behind the scenes... And it also always gives the girls press and attention whilst they are inactive as a band, and otherwise probably wouldnt be mentioned at all...

So, lets give Mel B a break and put some respect on her.

She is always a Spice from head to toe and you can tell she just wants it to happen all the time, she loves it and wants it to happen. Even Mel C in 2019 started to say 'Im gonna do it like Mel B and say it is going to happen and then it will happen' or something to that effect.

Let's not forget Mel B mentioning the royal wedding caused the GH to rechart in the top 200 that week.

I often feel they could be a bit more proactive on their personal social media pushing Spice girls stuff. Mel C has gotten good at this lately and Emma too.

See? Mel B is a queen :teresa:

It’s was great to see Mel in the news today but really sad about the circumstances (talking about the abuse she went through in her last marriage). The film looked very emotional and distressing but an important film and hopefully it will help raise awareness and money for the charity

The film will be released by Women's Aid on social media and on Mel B's social media accounts on Friday.

There is more info in the article here and it was also just shown on the ITV news https://www.itv.com/news/2021-05-13/spice-g...-domestic-abuse

^ It's very harrowing, in that sense it's hard to watch :( A really well made video though and a very important message. Well done Mel (and very brave of her to do this this considering how painful it must be to relive her experiences through acting):

Wow. Raw and beautiful. Proud of her for giving this truthful, heart-wrenching performance.

The interwoven scene of the dance and the violent struggle is particularly powerful.
