Wow next week will be a big week for sales - FEM, BEP, JLS, Take That, Westlife, Rihanna etc..

 

There must be something wrong with iTunes today - a lot of songs are showing up that shouldn't (X-Factor) or early (Chipmunk, Ellie, Far East Movement).

 

It's possible that:

• the Irish dates are being mixed up with the UK ones.
• there's a planned iTunes freeze due this weekend that some of the record companies know about, so they want their new songs to get as high as possible before this happens.

Chipmunk was always due to be released on the 12th, so the song wasn't released early

What is this "chart bug". Does it mean those tracks listed suddenly disappear from the iTunes top 200 within the space of an hour? :unsure:

 

I don't really know what it is, but I do know what it *does*.

 

It started about 10 days ago - generally speaking, very few songs drop out of the iTunes top 1000 from above #400 on the previous day, but suddenly songs started disappearing from high in the chart the previous day. It wasn't that they were unavailable to buy temporarily either.

 

I don't know the exact timescale the dropouts & reappearances operate on though, as I only check once a day.

 

The vanished songs usually reappear in the chart the next day.

Hopefully F*EM can top Rihanna by midnight :D

What's with all the early releases this week? Ellie, Chipmunk, F*EM... hopefully this is the start of a trend and we'll see more early releases now.

LAG6's crediting is screwed up though... hopefully iTunes fix this soon:

There's also screwy crediting for Second Chance crediting Taio twice. And also that Mohombi song credited Nelly twice. Sort it out iTunes.

Like a G6 released- wow, what a chaotic week for itunes! :lol:

 

I really hope it can get top 5 by tonight, it will probably miss number 1 next week- but if it keeps rising it should still get a top 3 peak :D

 

Ellie Goulding rising very quickly :o if this is shown during the ad break of X Factor tonight, it could go top 10 by midnight

I'm very pleased for Ellie and great to see Take That are climbing a bit again aswell.
