Posted November 8, 201015 yr The Gift and The Flood set to top charts 11:23 | Tuesday November 9, 2010 Source: MW Two familiar names look likely to top the charts this Sunday, with Take That’s The Flood (Polydor) and Susan Boyle’s The Gift (Syco) both selling strongly. Singles On the singles chart, The Flood, the first new song from Take That and Robbie Williams to be released since they reunited, sold almost 34,000 copies in its first two days of release, putting it slightly ahead of the current number one, Rihanna’s Only Girl (In The World) [Def Jam], although it looks set to be a close race to the top. New entries from McFly feat. Taio Cruz (Shine A Light [island / Super]) and Shayne Ward (Gotta Be Somebody [syco]) should also challenge for the top 5, while Adele’s cover of Bob Dylan To Make Me Feel My Love (XL), an X Factor favourite, could climb back into the top 10. Albums On the albums chart, The Gift, the follow up to the 9m-selling Dreamed A Dream, got off to a reasonably strong start, selling almost 30,000 copies on its first day of release. That puts it ahead of Bon Jovi’s Greatest Hits (Mercury), Cheryl Cole’s second solo album Messy Little Raindrops (Polydor) and James Blunt’s new album Some Kind Of Trouble (Atlantic / Custard). But while Cole’s album continues to sell strongly, shifting another 17,000 copies yesterday to add to its 105,431 last week, Girls Aloud band mate Nadine is off to a slower start with her Tesco exclusive solo album Insatiable (Black Pen). It sold slightly under 2,000 copies yesterday, which puts it in the lower reaches of the top 40, according to Official Charts Company midweek sales flashes, below new albums from Ray Davies and Cee-Lo Green, but ahead of releases from Roll Deep and I Blame Coco ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Top 40 Only Singles 1 Take That [34k] 2 Rihanna [31.8k] 3 McFly [23.2k] 4 Shayne Ward [18k] 5 Katy Perry Top 10 6 Adele Top 15 12 P!nk 14 Gyptian Top 30 22 The Royal British Legion Roberta Flack My Chemical Romance ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Albums 1 Susan Boyle [30k] 2 Bon Jovi 3 Cheryl Cole [17k] 4 James Blunt 5 Kings of Leon Top 10 7 Ray Davies 9 Cee-Lo Green Top 15 Elvis Presley The Benedictine Nuns Of Notre Dame Top 20 The Jam Top 30 Murray Gold The Chelsea Pensioners Robert Plant Top 40 Adele 37 Kylie Minogue Nadine Coyle [1.9k] 39 Jay-Z NO SALES INFO ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ARTIST UPDATES Singles Cheryl Cole 4+3 Bruno Mars 4+4 Mike Posner 5+4 Alexis Jordan 5+5 The Saturdays 10+5 will.i.am ft. November 9, 201015 yr Anyone else around? I'm feeling like I'm the only man in the world ... Looking forward to today's mids, should be an almighty chart battle (at least at the outset!).

November 9, 201015 yr I think Rihanna will still be number 1. Seems she is pulling away (according to pop bars)
November 9, 201015 yr I think Take That will have big physical sales and frontloaded downloads so I can see them being #1 today. I'm pretty sure Rihanna will be #1 by Sunday though. Oh and yeah I totally forgot about Nadine :o Probably low top20 ... Edited November 9, 201015 yr by Bert for Lashes
November 9, 201015 yr I think Rihanna #1 Hopefully Nadine top 10, but I'm not hopeful. Also wonder what the % drop off in SuBo sales will be compared with her last album ...?

November 9, 201015 yr 38!? I already knew it was going to be massive, but I was at least expecting top 20 in the first update! I presume you meant WASN'T going to be massive... I think it's proof the supermarket strategy only works for MOR artists. And once the press has painted you as a bitch, you never recover. Kinda gutted, but I expected it based on the single's performance.
November 9, 201015 yr Cheryl out of the top 5 in singles  :o Joe out of the top 40 in the Albums Edited November 9, 201015 yr by Casa
