Promo in Germany only starts in December. Many people don't know the album is about to be released.......

 

The first german radio stations started to play it as "album of the week" with some pre-views, but at all #4 on amazon is really good for Germany

but they mention 1.2M preorders for the album

Circus sold 133K first day and sold 430K by the end of the week - so how do you figure by it selling 150K first day it will end up selling 130K less than Circus :lol:

 

The 150K is for HMV alone and also includes Ireland. As I said if this turns out to be true then 120K or so of that would be in the UK alone which means it will easily sell 200K first day. It all depends on whether these industry predictions turn out to be true.

Weren't album sales generally a lot higher in those olden days though? To get an album selling a million these days is roughly the equivalent of five million ten years ago.

sales predictions are insane. If this album really exceeds 500k first week i will jump for joy... i never expected the hype around take that being sooooo big when they re-formed in 2005.

I think first week sales will be between 400-500,000 and if they are higher id be absolutly delighted. Overall i can see it selling between 2 and 2.5 million although it could possibly sell more. Beautiful world sold over 2.5 million and the circus sold over 2.1 million and i cant see progress selling anything less than the circus managed.

Apparantly the pre-orders for 'Progress' were massive so whether that turns into actual sales is left to be seen but I'm sure Take That will have excellent album sales this week. I'm also certain 'Progress' will become the biggest selling album of 2010 within the next 3/4 weeks (depending on how well sales hold up).

I was tempted to vote 2m - 2.5m but I'm unsure if the album will be a consistant seller come early 2011 even with follow singles to continue selling the album. Personally, I don't think it'll sell close to what 'Beautiful World' has sold. Maybe similar overall sales to that of 'The Circus'.

280-300k this week, but with a 500k week closer to Christmas.

 

I thought about 1.4m overall but seeing as The Circus topped 2m (thought it was closer to 1.5m), maybe Progess could do about 1.7m or so.

I think it will hit the 500k mark by the end of the week. At least I hope so or this whole thing will be pretty anti-climatic :lol:

Remember that Beautiful World had been re-released with 3 bonus tracks including Rule the world.

Don't know how much the original album sold alone but it might be closer to 2.1-2.2 millions.

So 3 millions for Progress is too high I think, unless it is also re-release with new tracks in a year or so. :unsure:

I haven't heard the album in full yet so I can't say if it deserves to reach 3m, maybe it does though.

I did think it might beat Oasis' record but after the single's abject failure I'm more tempted to say it'll do around 450k first week

 

1.5m-2m overall, it'll sell well until New Year and then plummet IMO

It is a topic for predictions but come on... do you REALLY believe Progress will sell 150, 180, 200, 250K ? :lol:

Also if it has a week of about 400K now and xmas (as mentioned) how can it end up selling 1 million? :lol:

 

Midweek sales will clear things up for everyone. If the album is by then over 250K (not to mention the more realstic 400) it obviously won't sell 200 the whole week, will it?

Judging by the reports, I'd say it'll easily sell 300k. Overall, I'd say just 1.5m
