It is very odd but it is true - it is now being widely publicized. Amazon are going to make a LOSS in profit on 'Progress' due to this - however the obvious aim to to generate publicity and get loads of extra people on their website in the hope they will buy other items too. Considering these sales are counting towards the chart it is not out of the question the album will pass 1M by next Sunday. People will not pass up the chance to get an Xmas present for others for only a pound. There are many that are going to be stocking up for both TT and Susan in light of this deal.

Amazon is a vast company and definitely has a reliable marketing and ecomomics branch! If they chose to do such special sales they are aiming for some long range profit. Amazon won't loose its money, carefully scheduled companies (also during the crisis) don't do risky or stupid investments... As long as charting is concerned Amazon must have bought the album on standard price so that shouldn't change anything in its charting eligibility...

I was thinking of buying this album for xms present for some friends but it has now become TOO CHEAP for an xmas present...

Who says you have to tell them how much you bought it for?

What if they have heard it on TV? (embarassing moment)

Anyway I think I will manage to trick some Greek friends who have no idea of Amazon.UK. :teresa:
