Don't let the silence do the floping! :(

Don't worry, it'll do a Firework as soon as she performs it on X Factor and score at least a couple of weeks top 5.

Why is everyone so convinced that the iTunes chart is wrong?
Why is everyone so convinced that the iTunes chart is wrong?

Because XFF were #1 yesterday with a massive lead which exactly mirrored the performance of their charity single from last year, therefore was entirely expected and normal.

They’ve since dropped to #2 which I don’t think I’ve ever seen happen in such a short space of time (less than 1 day) in the history of iTunes for a song which had such a massive lead, so I can reasonably conclude that iTunes is wrong and has reverted.

But the earlier pop bars could of been wrong?

I doubt it. As spiidey said the pop bars last night were completely conceivable... there's no way this single is going to miss #1 after being performed in front of, what, 17 million people or something AND the fact it's for charity. It's obvious that iTunes is using earlier sales, at least for the XFF and I suspect for Olly too. Weirdly enough it seems fine for everything else though.

iTunes never invents pop bars like it would had to have done for your idea to be right, it sometimes simply reverts back to a previous time. So, we know that at some time in the past day the X Factor Finalists had a huge lead so it would be ludicrous for it to have regressed again this rapidly.

It hasn't simply reverted though - if it had done that (to last night) then there wouldn't be loads of album tracks charting right now (and many of them climbing pretty rapidly, which suggests iTunes is in "normal service" elsewhere) as they were only released today. The problem is definitely only with a few individual songs. It's very weird

Ugh I'm so annoyed that the fact that JLS have released multiple covers of their albums. They did it with their first Album too I think, correct me If im wrong, They are just so desperate for sales tbh.

I actually hope Take That get the #1 Album this week rather than JLS.

Needed to get that off my chest :o

& Glad 'Firework' is holding up so well, and its a 3rd single too, :cheer:

Right Through Me, Fly, Roman's Revenge, Monster and All of the Lights are available to download now, unless I am mistaken. I can see them all going top 300 at least.

Right Thru Me - #103

Fly - #429

Roman's Revenge - #132

Monster - #202

All of the Lights - #188

Yeah I know, they did that last year. Really angered me cos Robbie had to settle for #2 by like less than 1%. That was a week after hitting #2 to Alexandra Burke's Bad Boys ( :puke2: ) when any normal week he probably would have been #1 on both. Bloody X-Factor! Now JLS did the same with 'The Flood'/'Love You More'!.

Its really odd - when the XFF were #1 and Olly #8 briefly last night, at the same point Jessie J had dropped from #38-#74 and Gorillaz had dropped from #67 to #80, but Duffy had climbed from #133 to #83 also.

Very odd, where are all of them now?

My itunes says:

1. X Factor Finalists 2010

6. + 58. Adele

7. Olly Murs

30. Shakespears Sister

37. Olly Murs - PDLME

40. Jessie J

50. Gorillaz

61. X Factor Finalists 2008

82. Duffy

Oddly Cee-lo's Forget You at no. 16 is now album only! Pop bars haven't updated so no idea how far ahead XFF 2010 are ahead!

I think it's gone back to how it should be?

Top 10

1. XFF - Heroes

2. Ellie Goulding - Your Song

3. JLS - Love You More

4. Take That - The Flood

5. Rihanna - Only Girl (In The World)

6. ADELE - Make You Feel My Love

7. Olly Murs - Thinking Of Me

8. Katy Perry - Firework

9. Far East Movement - Like A G6

10. Alexis Jordan - Happiness

40. Jessie J - Do It Like A Dude

50. Gorillaz feat. Daley - Doncamatic

82. Duffy - Well Well Well

but the gap between ellie goulding and x factor was the same between ellie and jls that same night when ellie was #1 and jls were #2
My pop-bars have updated Ellie's bar is about 3/4 of the X Factor Finalists' bar and JLS about half of XFF
I think it's reverted completely this time. The new album tracks that were there before have all disappeared.

No, the XFF have just reclaimed the #1, thats all. Olly was at #4 earlier and it is still down at #7 and Jessie has again fallen from #31 to #40 after such a big climb after the last cock up. Itunes is seriously very strange today... have no clue whats going on, mabye it has a virus

Really?! :o Perhaps they want people to buy the the explicit version for some reason?

Although there's bound to be other versions of Forget You on iTunes. There's probably one on Now 77.

Olly #4 :)

iTunes messing up really can have a profound effect on the charts.
