November 17, 201014 yr Author If they were actually relevant these days their albums would fill the top 15 after 24 hours, no? By the way, I dont care about the albums. On iTunes singles chart they are flopping. ^_^ ISTM that Apple will be a bit miffed at their big announcement being usurped by the 24/7 royal wedding coverage...
November 17, 201014 yr Author I find these 'Beatles are overrated' comments somewhat amusing. If you don't like their music, that's fine - but how *can* you overrate the biggest group in pop music history? :P
November 17, 201014 yr I hear that UK 'Bookies' are taking 'Bets', on which Beatles Song, will become their 18th UK No.1 first. And, also taking 'Bets' on The Beatles having the Christmas No.1. I don't think either will happen. '1' alone, has sold over 2,700,000, in the UK, & the Songs on 'Sgt Pepper...', have sold 5 Million, on that Album...... Edited November 17, 201014 yr by zeus555

On iTunes singles chart they are flopping. ^_^ Emmm... 28. The Beatles- Hey Jude 38. The Beatles- Twist and Shout 48. The Beatles- Let It Be 49. The Beatles- Here Comes The Sun 59. The Beatles- Twist and Shout 64. The Beatles- Blackbird 69. The Beatles- I Saw Her Standing There 72. The Beatles- In My Life 85. The Beatles- A Day In The Life 91. The Beatles- Hey Jude 92. The Beatles- Let It Be 93. The Beatles- Help 99. The Beatles- Eleanor Rigby I wouldnt call that flopping ;)
November 17, 201014 yr How comes its always the legends like The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Madonna etc that are supposidly overrated. You cant sell as much as they did, have such a legendary status and be overrated.
November 17, 201014 yr Emmm... 28. The Beatles- Hey Jude 38. The Beatles- Twist and Shout 48. The Beatles- Let It Be 49. The Beatles- Here Comes The Sun 59. The Beatles- Twist and Shout 64. November 17, 201014 yr Exactly. There's a difference between not liking someone and thinking they're overrated. I can't stand a thing Elvis Presley has ever done but do I think he's overrated? Do I f***! How can he be when he achieved what he did?
November 17, 201014 yr Songs I think would go top 40: She Loves You Hey Jude Yellow Submarine Yesterday Let It Be Help A Hard Day's Night Twist and Shout Top 75: The Long and Winding Road I Wanna Hold Your Hand Love Me Do All You Need Is Love Get Back So, 13? EDIT: Hadn't seen the above post, so I voted 6-10. Edited November 17, 201014 yr by John_Squire
November 17, 201014 yr Apparently this weekend it's Beatles weekend on X Factor, so expect a few in the top 20 :) I think without there would have been 3-4 in the top 100, with 1 or 2 in the top 40.
November 17, 201014 yr I said 6-10. I reckon Hey Jude, Twist And Shout, Let It Be, Here Comes The Sun, Blackbird, I Saw Her Standing There and possibly In My Life just barely could go top 75, with 4 or 5 more in the top 100. HJ and TAS in the top 40 I have a feeling this is a little bit optimistic though :P
November 17, 201014 yr X Factor this weekend. Quite a lot of press. With both of these in mind now there will be quite a lot invading the chart.

November 18, 201014 yr Author Now that there *finally* available to download, how many will chart in the next week or two? With hindsight, ISTM that next week is likely to be better than this week for them. 1. Midweek release gives other all tracks 1/3 week headstart. 2. Available *only* via iTunes, so far, so they'll only have 2/3rds the avaialability of other tracks. 3. The announcement of their release being swamped by the royal wedding news. Next week, if the rumour of a Beatles-themed XF show is true, should be significantly better.
November 18, 201014 yr Currently they have 16 entries in the Itunes top 100 and over fifty in the top 200 altogether.
November 18, 201014 yr 'X Factor' (Beatles Themed Show) - Saturday 20th November. Here are the 'Beatles' Songs that the 8 Acts will Sing:, http://smurl.name/6l2q Notice that 'Hippy Hippy Shake' is suddenly a Beatles Song. They covered in in 1963. It is actually from 1959. The UK best knows it from the Swinging Blue Jeans No.2 Hit. And, 'Imagine' is now a Beatles Song too.
November 18, 201014 yr I assume iTunes will have booked their advertising slots for Saturday night then
November 18, 201014 yr I assume iTunes will have booked their advertising slots for Saturday night then They would have booked them regardless of the X-Factor.
November 20, 201014 yr Only heard about this on Wednesday. I've got the box set, so I went to look to download Free As A Bird and Real Love, 2 songs not found in the box set, to find them also not available for download. Shame.
