December 11, 201014 yr I watched Popstars the Rivals and liked them all individually, i liked their debut single and single by single they have become my fave music act of all time. I'm surprised and happy at how far they have all come and the success they have had on their own and as a group! Never doubted the group ever, well not counting Long Hot Summer (took a while) and Sexy No No No (took a while!) both which i would consider one of their best now and like them alot now! So basically a fan from day one. I thought they'd be one hit wonders with SOTU, and then i heard No Good Advice and LOVED IT and i realized they could do it time and time again - that made me from casual fan to mega fan and i've become a even bigger fan year by year. Like the solo stuff and group stuff, best pop band in the UK possibly ever. Edited December 11, 201014 yr by sajjadali
December 11, 201014 yr I'm from the Netherlands, and they've had a few hits here (SOTU, Love Machine) but they're relatively unknown, and it wasn't until a year ago that I found out the BRILLIANCE of GA. Even though I was on Buzzjack for years, I never felt the need to check them out  And when I did, I fell in love
December 13, 201014 yr I became a big GA fan since Something kinda Ooh. But before I knew them I had a song in my head and and I needed to find it, so I went on youtube and searched til I found the song, it was SOTU :D then i listened to every song and I started to buy all of their stuff. It was great at the time when I became a fan, the greatest hits came out so I had every single on one album :D LOVE THEM, and can't wait to see them back together :D

I know some of their earlier material charted in a good few countries! :)
December 23, 201014 yr I guess I really liked them when they started, but really grew uninterested after "Wake Me Up", it wasn't until "Something Kindah Oooh" was released that I became a massive fan again, and when "Sexy! No No No" came out. That was it.. As for Cheryl, I guess my BIG obsession came with the song "3 Words", I felt "Fight" was too overrated.
January 10, 201114 yr The very beginning. I watched Popstars: The Rivals and preferred the standard of the girl contestants to the male ones - in particular I rooted for Nadine and Nicola! Once Girls Aloud's Sound Of The Underground single was debuted, I was hooked - have been ever since.
January 26, 201114 yr I bought sound of the underground in France and In 2008 with internet I rediscover GA
January 26, 201114 yr May I ask where each of those songs peaked in Netherlands or any other songs - I'm just curious. I know some of their earlier material charted in a good few countries! :) Love Machine didn't chart at all here. Sound of the Underground -- #9 No Good Advice -- #26 Jump -- #8 That is all. I've liked them (would never consider myself a fan) since the beginning, I even have the single of Life Got Cold. BTW, I agree with Silver Rocket on Cheryl's solo career. When I watch old GA videos now all I think is 'wow, that one flopped so badly' and 'she is such a media ***'. I don't think they should've ever gone solo. Edited January 26, 201114 yr by XXXO
February 16, 201114 yr I loved them since the very start and I've got so many memories attached to the early days of GA; I still think Popstars: The Rivals was the best Popstars/Pop Idol/X Factor series ever, it was such a great twist on the format and so exciting. I remember watching it every week then voting for all of the girls apart from Sarah on finale night, and then trying to vote for her during the ad break when she was in the final two. I've still got the official book and DVD somewhere and it still makes me laugh to think about how obsessed with the show I was. I also remember coming home from school a couple of days later and my brother telling me he had taped the first play of SOTU off the radio. I thought it was such an incredible song and played it constantly over christmas. Then No Good Advice came out just before I went on a year 6 trip to the Isle of Wight for a week, so I took the single and played it to death on my CD Walkman. The album followed the day after I got back and was played throughout the summer which is when me and my best friend (who was just as obsessed with them as I am) saw them live for the first time at Party in the Park '03. The second and last time I saw them live was later that year at that Christmas In Popworld show they done (did anyone else go to that? It was pretty good if I remember correctly). I followed them right up until 2009, buying all their albums and singles, but now Cheryl Cole gets on my tits so much that I go for ages without listening to them as I just can't stomach anymore of her. It's a real shame :(
February 22, 201114 yr Became a big fan and discovered their other music as they were gearing up to release Something Kinda Ooooh. Major love for that song!
February 22, 201114 yr Snap! I loved SOTU and NGA but once I heard Life Got Cold I was like WOW! It's so underrated, sadly. :(
February 23, 201114 yr Well of course I liked some of their singles etc. But I became a BIG fan in 2008! Can't Speak Frence! Out Of Control. How fantastic.
February 23, 201114 yr Frence. Hahaha. I became interested in them when No Good Advice came out as Popjustice forum was launched around that time and I was sort of pointed towards some better pop music than the chart rubbish on the continent. But my love exploded after Off The Record where they were all just amazing in every way. Since then I've been going to the tours and acted like a non-loon fan should. But Out Of Control was so average that I really don't want them to bring out another album. I don't see them fit into the current scene at all. Chemistry will remain their masterpiece and let's not soil the legacy with an album full of Flings and Fix Me Up's.
February 23, 201114 yr Frence. Hahaha. Shhhhh. :P iPhone corrects my spelling and for some reason it wanted me to say 'frence' there... :( I'd love to see Girls Aloud live.
February 24, 201114 yr Shhhhh. :P iPhone corrects my spelling and for some reason it wanted me to say 'frence' there... :( I'd love to see Girls Aloud live. You still haven't? I remember when me, Severin, gooddelta and someone gorgeous off ChC were going to see Out of Control tour together in Brighton, but my travel plans changed and it was all brutally cancelled. You were going to go too back then. Anyways, this gorgeous dude - do you remember his name? I recall that at some point you bumped into him at some mall or other? And he did pretty well at CHCBB, maybe even won? Is he on here too? Sorrry to dump this all on you! :P
February 26, 201114 yr I liked them from day one, but I didn't love them until Call The Shots and of course, the rise to superstardom of Ms. Cole :)
