Posted December 5, 201014 yr If Willow Smith gets to #1 with 'Whip My Hair' next week, she'll be the first ever person born in the noughties to get a UK number 1. Born in October 2000, which terrifyingly is after I started secondary school  It was only three years ago that Sean Kingston became the first born in the 1990s to reach #1 (born February 1990), and since then we've had Pixie Lott as well (1991). Anyone know for the other decades? I can only think of Britney Spears as one of the first born in the 1980s (1981), but surely there was someone before that?
December 5, 201014 yr Billie Piper was born in September 1982 and got her first number 1 in June 1998 (15). Not the earliest, but the youngest #1 so far (until aybe next week, beaten by Willow). Edited December 5, 201014 yr by FM11
December 5, 201014 yr Depends if you count band members, because if so Hanson (x3) beat Billie and Britney to the punch for the 80s. 1970s was surely Tiffany? 1960s was definitely Jimmy Osmond as he's the youngest ever :D Edited December 5, 201014 yr by superbossanova
December 5, 201014 yr Some (possibly all) members of St Winifred's School Choir were born in the 1970s, and they had a #1 in 1980.
December 5, 201014 yr Al Martino, first from the 1920s :D I'd hazard guesses at: Ruby Murray for the 1930s Frankie Lymon for the 1940s (possibly Paul Anka) Frankie Laine for the 1910s Edited December 5, 201014 yr by John_Squire
December 6, 201014 yr I'm think it's Sean Kingston for the 90s if not then it's Pixie Lott. Edited December 6, 201014 yr by laddergoat
December 6, 201014 yr THE FIRST SOLO ARTISTS TO REACH NUMBER ONE FROM THEIR DECADE OF BIRTH 1900s Mantovani - The Song From Moulin Rouge 1910s Jo Stafford - You Belong To Me 1920s Al Martino - Here In My Heart 1930s Ruby Murray - Softly Softly 1940s Paul Anka - Diana 1950s Mary Hopkin - Those Were The Days 1960s: Jimmy Osmond - Long Haired Lover From Liverpool 1970s: Tiffany - I Think We're Alone Now 1980s: Billie - Because We Want To 1990s: Sean Kingston - Beautiful Girls 00s: ???????
