December 9, 201014 yr First SuBo now TT :( Poor Gaga beaten to the EOY number 1 album twice! At least year it's by a good album :smoke: It's just that Fame Monster happens to be my fave album of all time and Progress barely makes my EOY top 20. TT's Progress is so much better than Fame Monster! Even better that a homegrown artist has the number 1 album of the year and the first to break a million! Edited December 9, 201014 yr by jay727
December 9, 201014 yr Yes, yes, this is all very exciting and amazing and all the rest of it but, where does that leave Take That for the second single? It'll, most likely, barely reach the Top 15. Just look at the gap between the first two singles from 'The Circus': 'Greatest Day' hit #1, but the infinitely better 'Up All Night' stalled at #14. i think the sales of Progress are and will remain alot more consistent than The Circus, after 5 weeks the sales were only like 32k or something and then it just fell....i think that if they release a second single like Kidz it could reach out to a wider audience and chart inside the top 10 With Up All Night it wasn't a great song, not the best on the album by a long shot and only Take That fans bought it....they'll probably release the second single in Europe as well after the flood and the album did great out there rather than just in the UK and Ireland like Up All Night

December 9, 201014 yr With Up All Night it wasn't a great song, not the best on the album by a long shot and only Take That fans bought it....they'll probably release the second single in Europe as well after the flood and the album did great out there rather than just in the UK and Ireland like Up All Night Up All Night was my favourite song from The Circus - Take That just didn't promote it. You are right though ... after the fourth week sale - the album dropped majorly and never picked up again. I think on a monthly basis ... Beautiful World still sells more than The Circus. Kath
December 10, 201014 yr They really should have released The Garden as a single, it was suitably epic, maybe too obvious though. Didn't it get a minor chart placing all on it's own steam and I think was a single in some territories. Circus is a pretty clinical album really, I'm really glad they changed producer for Progress which is far warmer and has a really nice dynamic pop range to it.

I seem to recall it being performed somewhere though (can't remember where) which caused it to make the top 100
December 10, 201014 yr The Garden was released in Germany. It didn't made any impression and it was sung live in "Wetten dass". Up all nicght was the best song on The Circus. Crap and not timed promotion, the video was also not on the majority taste  . I think that Hold up a light would have been without a problem a top 10 hit with a proper video and release (it got only a radio release)...
December 10, 201014 yr Does anyone know how long Susan Boyle's album took to sell a million last year?
December 10, 201014 yr It hit seven figures yesterday as it also overtook fellow Polydor release The Fame by Lady GaGa to become the biggest-selling album of the year to date, according to OCC Data. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: So pleased they have overtaken the overrated GaGa!

December 11, 201014 yr It got to #97, yes. I seem to recall it being performed somewhere though (can't remember where) which caused it to make the top 100 they performed it on comic relief after gary barlow spoke about the kilimanjaro climb, it hit number 32 in the itunes chart

The Garden for me was one of the worst tracks on The Circus. It didn't do very well in Germany despite it being performed on a major show there ... and having a video (which was very, very drab). UAN was and still is my fave from the album followed by Said It All. To be honest though ... when I listen to it now ... there are only four songs on it that I do like. Greatest Day isn't one of them either! Kath
December 11, 201014 yr Congrats. And their sales will be huge the next few weeks considering the fact it's getting closer to Christmas and that they'll be at The X Factor and at the Strictly Come Dancing finale.
