January 9, 201114 yr On a separate note, thank GOD the xmas hats have gone :cheer: This calls for an Alice Deejay top 3; 1. Better Off Alone 2. Back In My Life 3. The Lonely One :magic: Who's this bitch? Never heard of her :o
January 9, 201114 yr Who's this bitch? Never heard of her :o Youtube is your friend. Responsible for at least two of the greatest dance anthems OF ALL TIME
January 9, 201114 yr The saddest thing perhaps though is that nobody actually seems to care that things have been delayed by such a long time. There's been no discussion in here for the best part of a fortnight :drama: Even 'the usual suspects' haven't arrived to cry 'when's the next contest?' :drama: I don't blame Phil, god knows we all have lives outside of the forum! But imagine if at the contest's peak in mid 2008-mid 2009, results of a contest were delayed indefinitely - there would have been UPROAR, crying, anger, perhaps depression  Looking back, I'm quite embarrassed with how deeply obsessed many of us (including myself) were with it at that point! Those hosts that dared to split their results over two evenings were no doubt scarred for life over the upset they caused the BJSC loons  I care but I know from experience that moaning about it will acheive nothing and is in fact likely to put you in a very compromising position with some of the mods. I must say I'm a little disappointed that the guys haven't just asked for some help so we can crack on with all this, there's no shame in admitting you're too busy! ^_^
January 9, 201114 yr I'm all for Phil having a life but I think this whole furore has really highlighted how unecessary TBO is...
January 9, 201114 yr TBO is neccessary. Very rarely is anyone 100% happy with the results of the contest the first time round (apart from the winner, obvs :P) and it gives people and their songs a chance to shine again, and to vote for anything you might not have had the chance to last time. As for the delays, I have been willing to help out with anything. It was essentially a one-man job by Phil though, I offered to help out mid last week but at that time he was still expecting to get it up for Friday and I wasn't around much at the tail end of the week :(
January 9, 201114 yr I'm all for Phil having a life but I think this whole furore has really highlighted how unecessary TBO is... In honesty, I doubt people would really care that much if this was happening to a normal contest either...
January 9, 201114 yr I think people do care more than we think. Everyone who has been a participant in at least one or two contests, knows how many songs you could actually discover in here. Songs you most likely wouldn't have found elsewhere. It may seem like most people doesn't care that much for the competitional part of the contest anymore, but please don't hype "people don't care anymore" just because of the silence. There could be several other reasons for people not participating and engaging in everything like before.. but if you ask, they still probably would want to disover more music this way. No doubt about it ^_^
