The single most moving goodbye of any assistant ever...

The single most moving goodbye of any assistant ever…

I was watching that earlier. All those bits about them meeting again which turned out to be true. What a great piece of forward planning.

The Hand of Fear is the only classic serial I own on DVD ironically enough. I think I'll give it another spin later in the week in memory.

My favourite favourite Doctor Who assistant has passed away.

R.I.P. Elisabeth

I, too, am shocked and saddened at the passing of Elisabeth Sladen.....she was one of my most favorite companions as well, from the Jon Pertwee/Tom Baker era......

Requiescat in pace, Elisabeth...... :snif: :snif:

Terribly sad about Elisabeth Sladen. I can't believe she was 63 though - she looked younger.

It feels genuinely odd that Elisabeth Sladen has died. Totally out of the blue. Did anyone even know she had cancer?

R.I.P Elisabeth. One of the best Doctors assistants. And the spin-off series was very good indeed.

Surely the BBC will dedicate this Saturday's episode to Elisabeth.

Hope they show the new series of 'The Sarah Jane Adventures' and dedicate it to her.

It's actually a bit strange, I've been watching past seasons of Doctor Who as a catch up.....and literally the next episode I watched after I saw the news article on yahoo about her death was the one that had her in it. (The school one in season 2) I didn't skip to that one either, it was just the next episode.

She seemed like a great character, I'll have to watch her spinoff series.

I was very shocked and upset to hear this news. :( I've not seen any of the old series with her in, but with her multiple appearances throughout Nu Who, it just felt like she was the ultimate companion. :( RIP Lis Sladen.

There will be a tribute for Elisabeth Sladen on Saturday at 6:45pm on the CBBC channel.

Surely the first episode of Dr Who will be dedicated in her memory.

It will be dedicated to her. I hope it will also be dedicated to Nicholas Courtney (the Brigadier)

Unfortunately no one cares about him because he hasn't appeared in the new series. -_-

Off to watch 4 back to back DW's :D

THe Lodger, THe Pandorica, THe Big Bang, followed by the new series :D

Brilliant first episode, had me gripped from start to finish, I just knew the Dr was not killed off in the first 20 mins.

Oh, brilliant casting of Canton starring Mark A Shepherd, Morn from Deep Space Nine, and other various TV programmes, Supernatural, Battlestar Galactica, X Files.

I thought that was a excellent first episode myself, so many twists and turns :o I can't wait for next week now :D

The first episode was great, a far better series start than last time anyway. A little bit WTF in places but I didn't expect anything else from Doctor Who. I suppose we'll find out the significance of 'I'm pregnant' next episode, or more likely at the end of the series because the writers of Doctor Who are dicks who don't want us to know anything :D

Of course, it's possible it's already known why 'I'm pregnant' is significant and I just wasn't following the episode.

The bit where River was explaining the whole 'travelling in different directions' was really good. The aliens that you forget when you look away from them was a neat idea as well, I'm sure it's been done before though?

LOVED IT. I've been a bit warry of getting to excited about this series, the last one was very hit & miss but I really enjoyed that episode. Love River Song to bits, frankly it ended too soon - I need the next episode now!
