April 23, 201114 yr Fantastic episode! I was hooked from start to finish, I wasn't expecting Amy to reveal she's pregnant though! I was a bit confused at times, but I was expecting that. Next week's episode looks even better, very clever that they showed different situations where each of them could die, as it's been confirmed one of them will die. The writing that is on Amy and Rory's faces looks very similar to the writing on Tony's face in the episode The Impossible Planet...
April 23, 201114 yr I loved the episode :D Fantastic episode! I was hooked from start to finish, I wasn't expecting Amy to reveal she's pregnant though! I was thinking about that episode during this one, something just reminded me of it but i don't think it has too much relevance although there is every chance it could do. Loved the aliens in this ep, it was just a brilliant episode and can't wait till next week.
April 23, 201114 yr Author Fantastic season opener, and a lot better than the majority of season five's episodes! We just need 'Day of the Moon' to continue to reach this bar and we're in for a great series! ^_^ The climax was great and the "Next Time"clip looks very promising.

I thought it'd already been ascertained River is the only person who could possibly die as the other three are all confirmed to appear for the rest of the series? And even River is scheduled for at least one more episode but her timeline is all screwed up so it'd make sense still. This is just what JamesP told me so it might be wrong :P

April 23, 201114 yr Great comeback for the doctor, River Song is great in it too. I like how it's different to normal Who episodes and Americanized (not that I want all episodes to be like this) Can't wait for next week's, the preview looks so good!

April 23, 201114 yr but we've already seen her die no? and her dying would change the past and the episodes she's already appeared in become redundant. The Doctor died. Isn't that about it... TO be honest all these deaths recently are just making them less powerful. Rory, and Amy have already 'died' lol. As has River but her timeline is in reverse.

As has River but her timeline is in reverse. The Doctor has already died 10 times, he just has the ability to regenerate. :P Since River's timeline is in reverse and they supposedly have everything planned out already for her future (past in her timeline) appearances, I wonder what they'd do if the actor who plays her suddenly dies :drama: Edited April 23, 201114 yr by Bray
April 23, 201114 yr The Doctor has already died 10 times, he just has the ability to regenerate. :P A regeneration isn't a death, it's his body repairing itself. Go back to the S3 finale. A timelord can DIE if something happens to them before the body can regenerate ala the Master, ala the Doctor at the start of this season, even though it'll never be a proper death as the show would be lost without the Dcotor

April 23, 201114 yr I'm pretty sure the Doctor's death IS the death we've been told about, considering they said "time could be rewritten" or words to that effect too when they revealed it. LOVED that episode! Better than most if not ALL of Series 5 (from memory). I love the aliens that you forget about when you're not looking at them - very similar to the statues in 'Blink' but the idea works well with these monsters too. I also love that they're exploring River's character a bit more since I think she's one of the most interesting things about Doctor Who since Series 5 started. I was convinced for quite a while that she was the Impossible Astronaut, but I'm sure not sure whether we've just been led to believe that? We shall see next episode I suppose. All in all, it was a good mixture of light, dark, comedy, and SCARY and I want part two NOW. The best Dr Who episodes get me totally confused and this definitely did that.

It is quite similar but not enormously so. I presume the picture Amy took of them on her phone will aid in the defeat of them. Unless the alien disappears from the picture or something. I think they're leading us to believe River is the astronaut as a red herring - in Flesh and Stone she says she's in prison for killing 'the best man she ever knew', the Doctor would surely be too obvious? April 23, 201114 yr I absolutely adored it, it totally worked for me. The story was mainly a set up for next week/the rest of the series, but the writing was great, it looked great and the characters/cast are really starting to gel perfectly now too. River song was of course fabulous and the best thing about it for my money. Her line about being a big screamer and the follow up had me in hysterics. I love that they feel they can bring the camp now, River Song carries it perfectly and I think Matt's doctor suits it really well too. The only downside is Amy's pregnancy meaning she'll be leaving at the end of the series, which isn't that good because I love her and the dynamic they all have now.
April 23, 201114 yr AMAZING EPISODE. Like seriously, it lived up to all my expectations and more. IF I had to complain about anything, I would say the 'death' scene was a bit unemotional and the climax was a tiny bit of a let down but the whole story was wonderful. Tres excited for next week. And for the record, the Doctor's death IS the death we've been promised.
April 23, 201114 yr How is it Americanised? It's 1 - set in America, 2 - has lots of American people and 3 - at the end of the episode (credits) it said BBC America and of course BBC Wales
April 23, 201114 yr Just because it has American people in it and has been made with the help of BBC America (I presume), that doesn't mean it's "Americanized". It didn't seem any different to any previous episodes to me.
April 23, 201114 yr And for the record, the Doctor's death IS the death we've been promised. I thought that much was quite obvious, at least to me anyway, but then I have spent ages analysing every tidbit of information we've been given.

As the episode was set in America and being filmed in America it would make sense to use American actors, no? The episode didn't feel any different from previous episodes at all.
