Dinosaurs on a Spaceship was my least favourite by a mile! :o Cool production and cast and all, but way too 'Kids Fantasy epic' for me.

I've actually liked all the other episodes though, S7 has probably been my favourite Matt Smith-era yet.

01 The Angels Take Manhattan

02 The Snowmen

03 Asylum Of The Daleks

04 The Power Of Three

05 A Town Called Mercy

06 The Bells Of Saint John

07 Dinosaurs On A Spaceship

As for the Angels, they are imo the best new villains since the revival and were the topic of my essay. I agree that none have been quite as scary as Blink and the Statue of Liberty as an Angel in Manhattan was a good idea in theory, but had ALL SORTS OF HOLES in it in execution, but they are still terrifying.

Completely agree about Dinosaurs on a Spaceship. It's actually quite surprising that The Power of Three was the better of Chris Chibnall's two episodes, yet The Power of Three was written in such a small period of time, whereas he had a long period of time to work on the script for Dinosaurs on a Spaceship. Pressure obviously makes them write better scripts (even though The Power of Three's only flaw was that it was resolved far too quickly - all that build up just for it to be finished so soon). Dinosaurs on a Spaceship just seemed a bit too much like soft porn, too. All the innuendo between Riddell and Queen Nefertiti... :puke2:

The only thing about the Statue of Liberty becoming an Angel that Steven Moffat didn't quite think through was would people on the island not notice it had suddenly vanished (unless of course the Angels were using a perception filter), and would they not notice that it was creeping through New York, up to Winter Quay? (Unless of course it was only the illusion of the people the Angels were trying to capture).

See I really likes the kids fantasy romp aspect of Dinosaurs, it made it feel a bit different but just as enjoyable for me. It was kind of like an episode of Sarah Jane.

Just watched it on Iplayer. Rather enjoyed it although found it a bit slow. But the ending was fantastic, and I really didn't see the twist coming.

Jenna-Louise continues to impress, and I love her chemistry with Matt. Despite not liking Matt initially, I think he's now over taken David Tennant as my favourite Nu!Doctor.

I think I would have liked it more if the Silurians had more involvement than just a cameo from Eldane (if it was him) on screen, and being referenced to previously inhabiting the spaceship.

My series rank. Amy + Rory's final episode was actually quite bad. Mainly because they completely destroyed the original scariness of the Angels in Blink. The Snowmen was such a good episode/introduction to Clara. The Bells wasn't as good, but the only episode which I didn't like was Dinosaurs which was just too weird/poorly written. Asylum of the Daleks was an amazing episode, perfect season opener and my second favourite Matt Smith episode (after The Impossible Astronaut/Day Of The Moon). The God Complex would be a close third too!

Apart from the lesbian who's name I forget I don't care for the Silurians so that didn't really bother me.

Vastra. :D

I'm not majorly fussed for the Silurians either, but it just seemed like it was a failed attempt at a moment in the episode to please fans, because the rest was utter tripe.

Madame Vastra! Her and Jenny (and Strax) are great, and they're all back for two more episodes in the later part of the current series :D

This is my rank, but I imagine The Bells of Saint John will rise with more viewings:

1. Asylum of the Daleks

2. The Angels Take Manhattan

3. The Power of Three

4. The Bells of Saint John

5. The Snowmen

6. Dinosaurs On a Spaceship

7. A Town Called Mercy

The last two are so bad in comparison to the rest of the series :(

I think it probably just comes down to my innate love if overly complex and pointless sci fi set ups. Id take that over a bland overemotional RTD esque storyline anyday.

I'm not really looking forward to their appearance in The Crimson Horror, TBH. :( I don't think I can put up with any more of the Doctor and Strax's comedy, given Ada Gillyflower looks like quite a terrifying villain.

I'm thinking:

1. The Angels Take Manhattan

2. The Snowmen

3. Asylum Of The Daleks

4. A Town Called Mercy

5. The Bells of Saint John

6. The Power Of Three

7. Dinosaurs On A Spaceship

The Bells of Saint John was enjoyable, but it felt very much like a safe return to the series.

Also I'm not sure if I like Clara, she seems far too quippy and unbelievable a character. I was actually surprised when she started screaming on the plane, I thought she'd laugh instead or make some sarcastic comment.

Any time Clara responds to something it has this weird tone that makes her sound insincere.

1. A Town Called Mercy (despite me normally disliking westerns I have a huge soft spot for this one, it was all set up very well, the final monologue gives me chills plus it has a namesake of mine who is amazing, something that doesn't happen very often)

2. The Snowmen

3. Asylum Of The Daleks

4. The Power Of Three

5. The Angels Take Manhattan

6. The Bells Of Saint John

7. Dinosaurs On A Spaceship

It's been much better than series 6 on the whole so far so I don't have many complaints.

Well I suppose JLC's just familiarising herself with the role, so I think it's only fair we give her time to settle in. She'll pick up things as she goes along, and after all - Doctor Who's a more fast-paced show to work on than what she's used to, aka. period dramas.

Clara episodes aside (because they're slaying Series 6 already *.*), Series 6 is much better than the first five episodes of Series 7. Asylum of the Daleks was complimented by the inclusion of Clara, Dinosaurs on a Spaceship was a monstrosity, A Town Called Mercy was 'good', but not something I could watch more than two or three times, The Power of Three was excellent and The Angels Take Manhattan was great, minus the non-scare-factor of the Angels.

This was a good episode but the plot was a bit 'lame' and actually now that I've seen mentions of it, VERY similar to the Idiot's Lantern which is one of my least favourite Who episodes.

I hope to see some progression with Clara now. This was her at her least interesting so I would like to see a bit of development and a bit more teasing and hinting about what she's going to be - since there wasn't nearly enough of that in this episode for my liking considering it's the first one since Christmas. Doctor Who is at its best when it is answering questions and then throwing a whole load more at you.

The next episode looks like it could either be very good or very bad going by the trailer.

Two teasers about The Rings of Akhaten, from Doctor Who Online:

Clara’s leaf is the ‘most important leaf in human history’.

Reference is made to the Doctor’s first incarnation.

Not a euphemism?

Anyway, as Andre said, I would prefer a few Clara answers before more questions!

 I hope not.

Most likely a reference about her maple leaf in her '101 Places to See' book (

that also returns in this episode

).

I don't think this will be another question about Clara, TBH. I think the leaf is rather minor in comparison to some other things set up in the Clara arc. I expect the leaf is a representation of her first trip in the TARDIS with the Doctor, to Akhaten itself - explaining why she said 'that's not a leaf - it's page 1' in The Bells of Saint John. But that would imply she had already been to Akhaten when she met the Doctor in The Bells of Saint John. It's unlikely, but it could be The Great Intelligence messing with her memories.

The (working) title for the 50th Anniversary special has been unveiled via an image of the scripts (from the readthrough; Matt Smith and David Tennant).

The title is:

Blue Amends

Plus, is Joanna Page also starring in the special? :o

PLUS, rumour has it

Paul McGann

is the photographer of the above.

Here's a question. In that book where she crosses off her age every year, why did she skip the age of 23?
