Posted January 2, 201114 yr Looking through some information on Chartstats and Chartsplus, I noticed Billiam have a very unwanted record when it comes to top 40 runs and beyond. Both singles spent ONE yes ONE week in the top 40 and dissappeared completley out of the top 200 all together. Was this a limited release? Another one to add to this is "4"33" by John Cage - 21 then out totally. Any more suffered this fate?
January 2, 201114 yr > The Trashmen - 'Bird Is The Word' [2010]: Entered at #3 w/e December 20, then dissappeared from the Top 40 altogether. > Rage Against The Machine - 'Killing In The Name' [2010]: Entered at #1 w/e December 22, 2009 (?), then dropped to #38 the week later, before dropping out of the Top 75 the following week. Just to name a couple.

Just to name a couple. KITN's top 40 run was 1-2-40-OUT. It also had three top 40 weeks from the original release. One week in the top 40 is not at all unusual, particularly for songs which enter in the lower part of the 40.
January 2, 201114 yr in 2008 Wet Wet Wet - Weightless: 10-OUT (disappeared from the top 10 out of the whole top 75 after just 1 week)
January 2, 201114 yr Author That Wet Wet Wet song certainly lived up to it's name ;) Again was it a limited release?
January 2, 201114 yr Koopa win this one hands down. Look at how their 2007 went for them: 20/01/2007 Koopa Blag, Steal And Borrow 31 {31}->1 23/06/2007 Koopa The One-Off Song For The Summer 21 {21}->1 10/11/2007 Koopa The Crash 16 {16}->1
January 2, 201114 yr it doesn't technically count as they had already been in the charts for weeks, but in the last three years, the christmas songs from Pogues and Mariah, went from top 20-out after Christmas also this year Leeds Leeds Leeds and Muse's Neutron Star Collision went from 10 and 11 respectively to out of the top 50, although Muse did climb back up again eventually Edited January 2, 201114 yr by chart wizard
January 2, 201114 yr That Wet Wet Wet song certainly lived up to it's name ;) Again was it a limited release? It had to do with a text download of the song being available to buy during their concerts that were taking place at the time. Paramore did something similar with their re-release of Misery Business to go top 20 for the 2nd time.
January 2, 201114 yr That Wet Wet Wet song certainly lived up to it's name ;) Again was it a limited release? If I remember well it was on full physical release was but if it was the download era already, so it was just a disastrous chart run.
January 2, 201114 yr what about second chance by tinchy stryder and taio cruz, that only spent a few weeks in the top 200 before disappearing!
January 2, 201114 yr Who could forget Lisa Scott lees final attempt at trying to get a top 10 hit with that song "electric" 'it peaked at 13 then dropped to 47 and then out of the charts, although it might have been a limited release. And also kylies song 'the one' it entered at 36 and was gone the next week Edited January 2, 201114 yr by Propilot87

January 2, 201114 yr As Brett Butler said for Wet Wet Wet, these charted due to text-download campaigns Oh I didn't know that.
January 2, 201114 yr Garbage did this a few times. 29-OUT [Only Happy When It Rains] (1995) 19-OUT [You Look So Fine] (1999) 24-OUT [Androgyny] (2001) 27-OUT [breaking Up The Girl] (2002) 20-OUT [shut Your Mouth] (2002) - this one fell from #20 to out of the Top 75 altogether! 24-OUT [sex Is Not The Enemy] (2005)
January 2, 201114 yr I think The Wedding Present had 12 top 20 hits in 1992 each of which only spent one week top 40? EDIT: 4 of them missed the top 20, but only 3 had 2 weeks in the top 75 (and all 3 of those only had 1 week top 40). The other 9 only had one week in the top 75.
