July 23, 200620 yr Author I don't know if it's really "Smalltown Boy" that is being sampled on this record, I think its Bronski Beat's follow up "Why" that it is being sampled here. Buy I'll listen to the record when I get a chance. It's 'Why' originally peaked at No.6
July 23, 200620 yr I've haven't listened to the chart show for ages - but the format has defintiely improved. I have heard lots of songs for the 1st time today as they are actually playing the new entries :) Not impressed by Lily Allens album snippets at all - but I think I'll buy Razorlight now :D love that next single

July 23, 200620 yr Why on earth do they think RHCP could be number one? It's their second single, and they're a ROCK band! Any true fans would have bought the album by now, and second singles from rock bands very rarely reach the heights of the first...
July 23, 200620 yr 30 Franz Ferdinand - Eleanor Put Your Boots On http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/RUG234CD.JPG 'Eleanor Put Your Boots Back On', an album and live highlight, has been totally revamped for its single release, re-recorded in Benton Harbour, Michigan whilst Franz Ferdinand were touring the US. Having evolved enormously through months of touring, the song has been amplified and beefed up, taking the romance of the original and filling it out with new instrumentation.- HMV track listing 1. Eleanor Put Your Boots On 2. Ghost In A Ditch 3. Fade Together [Avalanches Remix] UK Release date: 17-7-2006 Discussion thread This is Franz's worst showing on the singles chart since their chart debut "Darts Of Pleasure" reached #44 in Sep. 2003.

July 23, 200620 yr 25 (Downloads Only) Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars 'Chasing Cars' is the second single to be taken from Snow Patrol's platinum album 'Eyes Open'. Following the success of first single 'You're All I Have' and it's immediate cementing as huge live favourite, the release of 'Chasing Cars' is eagerly anticipated and is shaping up to deliver the band their biggest song yet. First previewed during the bands tour with U2 in summer 2005, 'Chasing Cars' is Snow Patrol at their emotional best; a hook laden epic ballad that builds from a simple keyboard/ vocal refrain into a widescreen, guitar fuelled, string drenched, indie/ rock track that is irresistible from start to finish. - HMV track listing 1. Chasing Cars [Album Version] 2. July 23, 200620 yr 19 (from 12) Bob Sinclar - World Hold On (Children Of The Sky) http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/DFTD132CDX.JPG House superstar Bob Sinclar follows up last years UK top 15 hit 'Love Generation' with the equally anthemic 'World, Hold On (Children Of the Sky)'. Lifted from Bob's forthcoming new album 'Western Dream' (which also boasts 'Love Generation') and featuring the soulful vocals of Steve Edwards, 'World, Hold On' has the rare quality of being both deep and uplifting at the same time. Including another nagging whistle hook atop Mr Sinclar's synths and drums, this follows on where 'Love Generation' left off by teaming the drops of a club smash with pop sensibilities and another lyrically special song warning of the dangers of neglecting our planet – a particularly topical theme right now. This is a record that has the rare ability to cause dancefloor devastation while possessing broad commercial appeal – in short, this is already one of the anthems of the year. A heavyweight remix package starring Axwell, Praise Cats and Bob himself among others provides extra clubland ammunition. -HMV CDS track listing 1. World Hold On (Children Of The Sky) [Original] 2. Produced by DJ Premier and Charles Roane, 'Ain't No Other Man' is a modern take on vintage jazz, soul and blues from the 1920s, '30s and '40s, creating a wildly inventive sound that's gritty and raw, and is taken from her brand new album 'Back To Basics'. - HMV track listing 1. July 23, 200620 yr Mis-timed much? Three weeks ago it would've been 10 places higher. I hope it's not number one, stupid record company!
