To my knowledge never forge is on less than 700,000 sales, wher rule the world is well well passed 800,000.

Shame is one of those songs that people hate or love, granted it most certainly is not the best work by Gary or Robbie but i still have love for the song, that said i do have to be in a certain mood to listen to it.
I think Shame worked well. It acted as a bridge for Robbie solo to TT5 again and for the fans who witnessed Robbie putting Gary down as he did back in the day every day in the papers. I dont think it was meant to be a big big commercial hit, it was first and foremost meant to signal closure.
Im not sure i would agree about it not meant to be a huge commercial hit as i am sure the record company were sure it would have sold alone by the names, and i will admit i did expect it to sell better as i was sure it would fly all the way to number 1 with ease.

Well it would have flown to number 1 if Cee lo hadn't released that week as prior as over 70k was more than enough to get number 1 when looking at the average figures for a number 1 around that period.

What i meant was that the singles purpose was to promote Robs new GH and to show everyone that he and Gary had made up. I dont think they realistically thought that it would sell platinum but Im sure they expected it to go number 1 with 200-300k sales. Plus the TT material was released a month or so after so that was always going to affect the charting of Shame long term. Even still Im happy with its sales and pleased with its chart, even though id have loved it to go number 1. It did chart in 19 countries worldwide though which was fantastic

It done well in its own right or on its own merit im not taking away from that. That said, i for one certainly expected no less than 300,000 total sales when in reality it struggled to get 200,000.I do see your point it was more about letting people know that Take That had gone full circle again with reuniting with Robbie and that the Gary and Robbie feud was a thing of the past.

Shame did perform ok but i had originally thought it would sell better and i also expected it to sell near 100,000 on its debut week, i agree it did bridge the gap and while i do like the song i still am a little disappointed by its sales.

Rule the World - the winner of all polls based on liking, not disliking

If it were a question of song videos, Shame takes it away with all that skin and smiles

Just hope that the new single doesn't stall at number 2 again
Another number 2 while good i would want another number 1. That said, number 2 hits selling in such quantities such as The Flood and Rule The World is nothing to be laughed at either.

For some reason Rule The World jumped out at me, although I do also love The Flood and Shame :)

I really like rule the world and the flood but opted for the later. Both are incredibly strong songs but the flood is more uplifting and energetic.
