But how? Isn't Radio 2 still playing "Riviera Life" which hasn't done a thing?

They've got her whole album on the playlist so have been playing all of them! A Night Like This has much more hit potential than Riviera Life imo, well in as much as a jazz song can be a hit single in 2011, which is probably only if hell freezes over :/

OK, bad example :P

but Lady Gaga performed Telephone then, which wasn't a proper hit until months later, plus U2 performed Get On Your Boots in the 2009 ceremony and they weren't even up for anything, so it can happen

Ahhh yes. ('Telephone' was just taking off I think as she performed it at The BRITS.) I also remember her adding 'Dance In The Dark' into the performance. Sorry, bout that!

I think that you do generally have to perform songs from the previous year as those are the songs being celebrated, but Lady GaGa was probably an exception

JLS were about to release One Shot, but still performed Beat Again as that is the song they were nominated for. The same with Cheryl Cole.. She was about to release Parachute I believe ?, but performed Fight For This Love

Tinie Tempah has been confirmed as a performer already, but I don't think Ellie has. Pretty sure he will perform Pass Out

Ah, sorry, I got it wrong. I read somewhere that they were confirmed to be performing together, but that was probably the nomination ceremony.

T-Pain now has, quite randomly, two songs in the iTunes top 40:

34. Hey Baby (Drop It to the Floor) [feat. T-Pain] - Pitbull

38. Move That Body - Nelly, Akon & T-Pain

Move That Body is getting quite a bit of airplay on music channels and I've seen the Pitbull song once or twice too

somehow I dont think they will be very popular on here

Yes, but it seems slightly random T-Pain was absent from the chart for so long and now has 2 unrelated songs in the top 40.

Yeh I was a bit surprised when I saw him in the videos again.. Thinking where has he been ?

The Akon season has also restarted it seems - 'Oh Africa' was the last Akon song to peak (in 2010 week 6) before Kush, Hold My Hand and I Just Had Sex all charted in quick succession (within seven weeks of each other)

Yeah, and one of the tracks credits Akon, so it'll get full-on crucified, along with the other artists on the track until it's all in the past. :drama:

The nelly song is decent whilst Pitbulls is positively amazing

I would've expected Nelly's next single to be the Keri Hilson song, because that got to #27 on iTunes or something crazy when the album got released.

Oh well. I guess Keri Hilson is just too good. :(

EDIT: And Move That Body as well obviously, I forgot he's also credited on that. 4 new hits in 8 weeks after a nearly-a-year gap.

Wretch 32 is going to number 1, isn't he? :(

Oh and apparently Britney's been pushed forward to be released Monday... Wretch 32 will win and be number 1, but Britney vs. Wretch 32 vs. Diddy vs. Avril (This is being released next week?)

EDIT: It's confirmed Britney IS released on Monday. Wretch still has the number 1 in the bag though, imo.

I hope all those songs do well.

Especially Coming Home. That song is gorgeous. I love it so much. :) And Skylar Grey is amazing on I Need a Doctor too.

I wouldn't mind if Wretch 32 got to #1, but I'm pretty sure Britney would beat him if they're released at the same time (and Britney's song is great too, so I don't mind). :)

Adele is also out next week.

I predict this:

Exact positions:

2 Wretch 32

3 Britney Spears (if she releases - she would probably be top 2 if released on Sunday but if it's released on Monday...)

4 Adele (3 if Britney is not released)

Rough positions:

7-10 Avril Lavigne (if she releases)

7-10 Diddy - Dirty Money

15-25 Jodie Connor (it did pretty well when it was briefly added this week)

40-50 Aggro Santos (a bit of an Ironik/Jessica L - Falling In Love situation, that went top 40 despite having no airplay)

I can't see Bruno being knocked off unfortunately :( (I say 'unfortunately' but I STILL haven't heard Grenade - I'm sure it won't be anywhere near as good as 'Traktor' and/or 'Rolling In The Deep' though)
