Palin has said her critics are committing "blood libel" - apparently, pointing out that it's a BIT innappropriate to talk of "taking out" opponents, is worse than claiming Jews kill their children and drink their blood.
I love Sarah Palin  Id vote for her if was American

That's because you know nothing about politics, same as 99% of her supporters.

I'll tell you what really grinds my gears about this whole thing okay..? Right, bear with me a moment here and consider this....

1999 - The Columbine Massacre happened in the US, now, who was the target of the Right Wing for all the responsibility..? Did they blame the gun culture? No, they blamed Marilyn Manson, because apparently Dylan Harris and Eric Klebold were "obsessed" with Manson's lyrics (even though no real evidence was ever presented in a court of law.. Manson, and not America's lax gun laws, was somehow responsible for Columbine and the discourse became totally distorted.. Also, at the end of the day, Manson is a ROCK STAR, not a politician, so has no real obligation to be temperate or show restraint in his language, he's not making the law or wielding any real power over anyone in the way a politician does....

So, anyway, that was the situation, and it became a fact that for a long time after, any Gothic or Alternative kid in the US was basically treated as Public Enemy No 1, it even went as far as schools banning kids from wearing black T-shirts (yeah, cos the kids at Columbine were killed by armour-piercing T-shirts weren't they...?). So, all this bullsh"t directed at Manson by the Right Wing, and now they have the nerve to cry foul when THEY are the ones being criticised with very REAL evidence of their responsibility through their intemperate and hateful discourses, unlike Manson's rather vague and interpretive lyrics which were written on an album released about six years before Columbine even happened....

Gee, hypocrisy much....?

Oh it doesn't stop there. The Republicans are accusing the Democrats of exploiting this for political gain. Did Bush exploit the September 11 attacks for political gain?

As much as I agree that it was wrong for the conservative media to blame Columbine on Marilyn Manson/goth culture, two wrongs does not make a right (pun unintentional). The way I see it, there are certain people who are interested in nothing more than petty points scoring against the right. By doing this, all you are doing is fueling the fire. People who are indifferent or even voted against the Republicans might be tempted to switch their allegences to them after witnessing the unreasonable blame being appropriated to them. I know the reaction to Manson made me more liberal minded (granted, I was 14 and it was after watching Bowling For Columbine)

And in regards to Manson, I'm sure that his career didn't suffer being plastered all over the news 24/7. If you tell a teenager not to do something and shove it down their throats, like listening to Marilyn Manson, I'm pretty sure they will find some way to do it. All publicity is good publicity, and Manson was getting publicity to people who might not even realise he existed.

I'm not sure if he did, but he certain exploited it so he could wage an illegal war.

Dude, he SO totally did exploit it for all it was worth... And the illegal war would be part of that "political gain" mate.... You seem to forget the 2004 election campaign....

Mate, no offence, but you seem to be incapable of seeing the wood for the trees here... For a start you're falsely assuming it's "petty point scoring" or being "unreasonable" to hold these people to account for their actions and their discourses... Have you even READ the sh"te that right wing commentators have been saying about Julian Assange...? I mean, seriously, you couldn't make it up... These people are a bunch of hateful, racist, fascist scum and I really dont think that's an exaggeration, I think you need to wake up to who these people really are and stop being such a liberal hand-wringer and giving these c/unts the benefit of the doubt, they dont deserve it, the only thing they deserve is to be met head-on and not be all wishy-washy about it... Christ, my Grandfather fought a war against people like this, against people like Nick Griffin.... If these people get into power, you'd may as well start writing your last will and testament, and this is NOT an exaggeration, they're right-wing zealots who actually believe in the "End of Days" FFS.....

That's what I had in mind. Bush fought a single issue campaign. That issue was September 11 and the way he had responded to the greatest failure in intelligence since at least Pearl Harbour.

When they claim that Julian Assange should be shot for his actions on Wikileaks, BY ALL MEANS HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE

When they claim that Barack Obama is a Muslim Nazi not even born in America, BY ALL MEANS HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE

However, in the cases where something bad happens in America that has absolutely nothing to do them, I do not think it is right to hold them accountable.

Believe me, I spent Thanksgiving with a family who could be easily described as typical Tea Party supporters. They are nice people, but as soon as the topic turned to American politics I just stayed silent from embarassment at the beliefs they started exposing. Anyone who keeps Ann Coulter books in the house without a hint of irony should not get into politics.

Also, isn't the point of fascism that it is authoritarian government control? If so, given that the Tea Party are claiming that the government have too much power, isn't it inappropriate to call them that?

Fascists are also ultra-patriotic and ultra-nationalist.. err, Tea Party ticks those boxes mate, and, come on, if they ever got into power, you better believe they'd be authoritaran and controlling, are you kidding me?

And, as for being "nice people", well, you know what, the majority of Germans during the Nazi years were likely all perfectly nice and polite, and they very nicely and politely dobbed-in their Jewish neighbours and very nicely and politely helped them on to the cattle trucks... There's a very good piece of research written about the "Banality of Evil", look it up sometime, because it basically tells the truth - given the right set of circumstances, we are ALL capable of the most horrendous acts, genocide is not the act of an isolated few madmen, an entire SOCIETY is culpable... Nazi Germany, Stalinist Russia, Bosnia, Rwanda.... You get the picture, yeah? Who do you reckon the Tea Party would target? Gee, let's see, err, Muslims...?

And news just in, The Tea Party is now using Jared Loughner to raise money for their cause.. Seriously, check out the Young Turks clip on You Tube... They use the Arizona tragedy to raise money, err, because the liberals are apparently using it to score points against them.. So, I guess it's okay to make money out of a massacre, but not political capital.... FFS....

1. Remind me again never to watch a Young Turks clip on YouTube. It's the sort of liberal journalism I despise.

2. Refer to my comments about giving someone enough rope. I didn't think the chair kicking would take place so soon (if what was said in those pamphlets were true. I'll wait to see if CNN will pick up on the story)

Well, Palin and Co are totally free to deny what was said... Seems to me that you just didn't even listen to what the guy was actually saying, you just seem interested in "liberal bashing" just for the sake of it, totally in denial of the facts.... How is what the Tea Party are doing any different to Chuch Heston and the NRA going into Denver mere days after Columbine and saying "From my cold dead hands....". Christ, the kids that Harris and Klebold murdered with their legal firearms were barely fukkin' cold on the morticians slab when "Moses" went and did the sermon on that mount.....

The right wing in America are disgusting, frankly, they make Nick Griffin and the BNP seem tame by comparison.... But you just carry on with the liberal bashing and totally fail to see the real enemy here....

And are CNN all that reliable a news source anyway...? From what I've seen they're only slightly less fascist than Fox News or Al Jazeera.....

Before you completely write off The Young Turks, check this link out....

How can anyone blame lovely Sarah for this crime anyway? She didnt tell this fruitloop to shoot anyone. Would you blame the Democrats if someone shot Sarah Palin?

Grimly you need to chill sometimes and just let go and have fun  I bet you would be a laugh after a bottle or 2 :cheer:

Plus I think people have the right to support whoever they want. I support the right wing fully. If anyone has a problem with that they can sit on my face

This is how sick and twisted the Right Wing are in Ameri-KKK-a.....

Chuck Heston and his "From My Cold Dead Hands" in Colorado mere days after 13 kids were shot dead in Columbine High School Colorado...

And here we have this....

Tea Party using the Arizona tragedy to raise funds for their cause.... Sick, fukkin' b'astards.... <_<

History repeats itself pretty clearly here in these two examples....

Shelli, you're actually too dumb to know what it is you're actually supporting, and you're a bigger spammer on this Forum than Crazy Chris is, at least occasionally he can display some measure of perception... Please go away from this Forum, read a few history books, read a few PROPER newspapers (ie, ones with words of more than one syllable), check out some decent news websites... And actually come back here with an informed opinion, and maybe people here will actually take you seriously...

I agree with everything Chuck Heston says

Over 1000 people like that video and only 100 dislike it. I love that Obama has failed in USA and has made George Bush even look good

Lets face it, the only reason Obama got elected was because he is black. Everyone was thinking it, Ive just said it :cheer:
