Also, are mods now the only guys that run contests? I'm feeling inquisitive...

How do you mean?

Did you go into the contest straight away? I've had a few months to observe how everything works and read rules etc.

Oh dear! :unusre: Does sound tricky, I haven't moderated a forum before, probably an artist forum would be better, but then I'm not too interested in them. I could probably moderate the chart forum, I've experienced alot in there and gained wisdom to know how they behave :heehee: You should have applied! Seeing as you one of the main participants and supporters of BJSC.

I'm only 14 so I don't have any application filling-in experience.

Yes, I've been here since day one!

Starting small and working your way up is always a good idea with modding, an Artist Forum would be an ideal start for anyone without experience.

I used to be the mod of this forum, and was for a good year or more - I just didn't want my old job back, I had reasons for stepping down in the first place which hadn't changed.

Fair enough, but as a general rule, always try to answer every question/fill in every box - like in an exam - even if it's a guess - although guessing that Love The Way You Lie was an Ashton entry probably wouldn't go down too well :kink:

Eh? How did you get there?

I'm asking Rob when he's hosting XXXI so i can do other things around it.

I would have publicly named and shamed, and possibly warned :drama:

Ashton has too much class to send something that cheap. We prefer the extended version of a Dance track that's about to go top 3 :heehee:

Are us norm's gonna get to host or will it just be mods?

It's whoever wins the previous competition, and Rob won XXX (November's competition)

Erm, it's going to be the same as it always has been.

Why would that change?

I thought you said you weren't allowed to discuss your entry until the confirmations have been done, but your talking about which one should be entered in your own country's thread?

Sorry misread a message! ;)

2] Know it all newbies are as popular as someone who has diarrhoea in a broken down elevator.

No worries.

We've never said anything about changing who hosts.

Its one of the very few things that will remain from BJSC I until it ends

Confirmed tracks will remain private until voting begins.

Discussion of perspective entries is allowed, however you can not say which track you have confirmed and if you are only after opinions for a track.

This is what I'm talking about, and why are newbies treated like that?

This is what I'm talking about, and why are newbies treated like that?

'Know It All' newbies.

Nobody likes a Know it all anywhere, people who come in and have competed in 0 contests and are suddenly throwing weight around aren't looked down on kindly. Liam and Theo have both been know it all newbies and neither were given the red carpet treatment when they arrived. Liam was banned for having an Alias, Theo grew into a more tolerable member and fitted in just fine! ^_^

I'm not sure where the confusion comes from. You can discuss what you are thinking of sending, but not say "i have confirmed X" or "right, that's sorted then, i'm going to confirm Y"

Like in my thread i have two tracks up. I can say i'm seriously debating them both, but i can't say "Thanks for your input guys i'm going with No Way Out" or "I think i love Stuck In My Head way too much not to enter it."

Is that a bit clearer?

'Know It All' newbies.

Well I know (the irony :kink: ) I'm not a 'know-it-all' newbie, and I'm treated fine in The Lounge and other non-chart forum forums.

Okay, it was probably how you worded it in the rules and how others were giving opinions on the tracks, that made me think that. Thanks for clearing that up :)

Btw, who will decide to prey on me if I am classed as a 'know-it-all'?

I wasn't referring to the forum in general, but to this forum in specific.

Less "This is the correct procedure" will have you seen as a normal newbie. Most people we get just sit and ask questions [i.e. am i doing it right?] and then start to speak up like that after a few contests.

I don't want to seem cruel, i just want you to fit in quite nicely and sooner rather than later. We've previously had a great community spirit in this section of the forum.

How could you say 'this is the correct procedure'? In what context? From what I've seen there isn't much oppotunity to be doing much else to what the rules say?

THIS is what i am on about.

I sometimes feel like walking up to a wall in my flat and attempting to put my head through it. Now would be one of those times.

I was answering his question, being helpful. Isn't that what happens when deciding who hosts next?

It was a mis-understanding, and I didn't realise I had done something 'terribly wrong'. -_-
