June 2, 201114 yr I made a mate of mine listen to DMS when he said he only had one album by them and it was Headmusic and he liked it. DMS blew him away - especially Still Life.

June 2, 201114 yr Still Life is the song I want to be played as my coffin disappears. We Speak No Americano for me :yahoo:
June 3, 201114 yr I just got DMS. This is the 6th time I've purchased it. Are you trying to build the world's largest Dog Man Star collection? HMV only sent mine yesterday so I suspect I will have to wait until Monday before it arrives :(

June 3, 201114 yr Author No. 1st dodgy tape Nov 94 2nd proper tape Mar 95 3rd cd Dec 95 4th vinyl Feb 04 5th second cd - first one was scratched Mar 07 6th remastered and expanded Jun 11 They've cut off the very last bit of Stay Together :( What's the track length? Does it have the brass crescendo? I picked up the full length version a few years back on CD, so it wouldn't be a massive disaster if it isn't, although it would have been nice to get a remastered version.
June 4, 201114 yr Are you trying to build the world's largest Dog Man Star collection? HMV only sent mine yesterday so I suspect I will have to wait until Monday before it arrives :( It's arrived :yahoo: "We are the pigs, we are the swi-ine" :music:
June 4, 201114 yr Imagine if you had never heard the b-sides but you were a huge fan of Dog Man Star - that would be some treat to get.

June 7, 201114 yr How much longer does the long version of Stay Together go on for? I absolutely LOVE it... and the full version of The Wild Ones also... Actually, scrap that... I'm in the process of importing all of my music from my external hard drive onto the macbook and it turns out I had the full version all along.
June 9, 201114 yr How much longer does the long version of Stay Together go on for? I absolutely LOVE it... and the full version of The Wild Ones also... Actually, scrap that... I'm in the process of importing all of my music from my external hard drive onto the macbook and it turns out I had the full version all along. Not to mention the 11 1/2 minute version of The Asphalt World  Shame about Eno's Introducing The Band which still sounds awful.
June 10, 201114 yr I have never made it the whole way through Eno's version. I was considering getting the debut expanded version but I can't see a reason to. I Have most of the songs already.
June 11, 201114 yr From now on I'm just downloading the extras that I'm actually interested in. Remastered versions of Suede and Dog Man Star were essential... even Dog Man Star I've only downloaded the main album and the extended versions. Which of the other 2nd disc tracks are worth getting?
June 11, 201114 yr I haven't watched the Coming Up DVD yet but I was at the Roundhouse gig and it was fantastic - complete with a guest appearance from Neil Tennant. So I'd say that alone makes it worth paying £9.99 on HMV.com. There's also a video of Shipbuilding. The second CD is almost entirely b-sides with a slightly different version of Europe Is Our Playground and one previously unreleased song (Motown) which is very different from the rest of the album. As I said above, the demo version of Saturday Night is wonderful. The version of Trash isn't great though.
June 14, 201114 yr I sort of wish I hadn't revisited Coming Up... I used to play this album on repeat and it soundtracked the second half of 1996 for me... listened to it again this morning and I found it utterly bland and vacuous. Sad times.
